  1. I tried searching the forms for this problem but didn't find one with a similar problem that I was facing (or maybe there is, but I didn't look hard enough but anyways). My computer shuts completely off after it tries to boot after the BIOS. This problem occurred after my computer got slightly moved a few inches, with only unplugging a couple of cables to help it shift into it's new place. I notice that when my computer boots up and before it shuts off, it's on a constant code 55 which indicates a memory issue. I tried reseating all of my RAM and it has the same issue. The only things I haven't tried yet which I will later, at the time of writing this, is reseat my SSD, try each RAM stick to see if I can boot off of one, clearing CMOS, and maybe reseating my CPU if necessary and checking all of my power cables. Those are the only things that I can think of to try without doing replacements. If anyone has suggestions as to what else I can try, that would be much appreciated. Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X RAM: 4x GSkill Ripjaw DDR4-3200 8GB Sticks (32GB altogether)
  2. This is an intermediate issue but I can't seem to figure out what could be causing this. Every so often, all of my audio on my computer completely turns off with both my WaveLink software that I use as well as my Windows audio. The only way for any of my sound to come back is to do a full restart of my computer. I noticed this behavior since I installed my new AMD RX 7800 XT which I'm not entirely sure if it's the AMD audio drivers potentially interfering with the WaveLink software or what. I've tried researching to see if anyone has a similar set up to what I have and haven't found anything, so I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction on what to try or if someone has experienced the same issue and has a fix, that would be amazing. Thank you so much!
  3. There are two choices that come to mind: I would say either the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max or for the android side of things, I'd say a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra for the S-Pen
  4. So I ran Cinebench R23 and rant the stress test while looking at HWINFO and from what I can see, the temperatures are way different and look more normal. Idle before running the test was showing a steady 51°C with the stress test showing up to 69°C (nice). So I guess the NZXT program is reading a different temperature somewhere because the other stuff is showing temps being normal and the CPU is fine.
  5. I'm trying to figure out if the temperatures I'm reading on my AMD Ryzen 9 5900X are normal or not. On idle, my temperature readings are between 62°C and 64°C. While under load, they range about 10 degrees higher. My case is the Corsair 5000D so airflow shouldn't be the problem. The only things that I can think of as to what it could be are the thermal paste and I just need to redo that, orientate the fans and radiator differently, or I might need to get different fans that are more flush with the radiator. Like I'm just looking for a second, third, fourth, etc. opinion as to what could be going on or if the temps for this CPU are just normal. Any help is appreciated!
  6. I'm planning on getting an RTX 3080 here really soon in the next upcoming weeks. I have a friend who I'm going to be buying the GPU off of so I'm going to be having that covered. I'm just mainly going "Hmmm Intel now or AMD later when the new Ryzen 7000 series drops".
  7. To add onto that, with how DDR5 has been a pain to get as of late because of scalpers, I personally don't really care for it plus I know of a lot of people who still even use DDR3 to this day and I highly doubt DDR4 is going to become obsolete any time soon.
  8. I think the build you have is pretty solid for the budget you're looking at. The only one that I would look into maybe upgrading a little bit would be the Power Supply. I personally like to make sure that I have plenty of headroom for my parts so upgrading the PSU from 750 watts to 850 watts would leave plenty of headroom for your current parts as well as upgradability in the future. Other than than, very solid list
  9. The CPU I have currently is a 3800X which I've had for a couple of years now and don't plan on getting rid of. The computer I'm planning on building is going to be a part of a two PC set up. The one I have is going to be acting as more of a "encoding"/"rendering" computer for when I stream or do whatever else. The new one is going to be more of my powerhouse if that makes sense.
  10. Planning on building a second rig for my setup and plan on getting a new GPU here really soon to start the process of getting parts for the new build. That being said, I'm looking to either build an Intel system or AMD system. I know both are pretty much comparable at this point and can't really go wrong either way, but at this point, I'm wonder if it's better to wait to see what AMD has up their sleeves when they release their CPUs (I'm guessing based on previous releases) around October or just go with an Intel based system? Currently, I run an AMD system and love it. It's great. I've only ever built AMD systems and part of the reason why I want to maybe build an Intel system is mainly to experience it since I never built an Intel based computer before. I know it's not different from AMD that much plus also the fact that you do need to be careful with the pins on the motherboard, but I want to at least say I built an Intel system. That's my main reason plus I also know that the 12th Gen CPUs are damn good. But yeah, what do you all think? Would love some opinions on thsi.
  11. So I've been looking into upgrading my CPU to the new 3000 series (my current CPU is the Ryzen 5 2600X) and I really want to get the Ryzen 9 3900X, but from what I've heard, it seems like on the current motherboard that I have now, it isn't really recommended for something like the Ryzen 9, but it would be more suited for the Ryzen 7 3700X/3800X. So I'm not entirely sure what I should do because I don't really want to get a new motherboard since the one I have now has been so far great to me (the ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming) and is my replacement from my last motherboard I had. Overall, I'm just seeing if it is possible to get the Ryzen 9 on my current motherboard or would I have to get the X570? Thank you!
  12. Currently, I'm on Windows and the software I use for editing and stuff is all Adobe (Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.). I don't currently go to school, but I do plan on going back eventually and from what I've been able to determine from where I'm at, it doesn't matter if it's Mac or Windows. I don't want to say thin and light because I know that those tend to thermal throttle. Though I will say that in terms of screen size, at least a 15" and in terms of weight, I don't want to carry something that's big and bulky, but also not thin and light. So a nice middle ground with that if it's possible
  13. I don't need macOS, but if I have to, I will use it. It doesn't matter to me. I work on my dad's iMac on occasion, but I mainly use Windows as my OS. In terms of weight, I want to keep it on the light side as much as possible and also have good battery life. A graphics card in the system, an i7, 16 GB of RAM, and an SSD would be preferred. In terms of a budget, I'm willing to go between $1000-$2000.
  14. So I'm looking into eventually buying myself a new laptop, but I'm not really sure which one I should get. I'm becoming a video editor, filmmaker, and all that jazz. And from my experience plus with what I was told, getting a MacBook Pro would be the way to go. However, I'm looking into other options in terms of a Windows machine. Plus see if I can save a few hundred dollars since I know the model i'm looking at in terms of the MacBook Pro costs pretty much $3000 USD. I also am a gamer if that is a factor that I should consider, but if I have to sacrifice gaming if I get a MacBook Pro, that’s okay with me.
