  1. You're right! I had completely forgotten about CRT monitors! And I did a bit of research and found to my surprise that CRT monitors indeed KILL modern game titles in terms of everything. The only drawback being the weight and size of it. But dang is the quality worth it. And a little more digging later I found out that I could snatch them for less than $100 or some even for free online since practically no one is using it. One dude did a research on it and said that even on a 1080p resolution and maxed out setting on tomb raider he could get details as good as his 4k display ( Also one dude working at pixar says that they have stocked up on good ol CRT monitors so that they could get color accurate work done for "years to come". I looked into the newegg link and found this to be the closest in terms of spec list of my choice: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824486004?Item=N82E16824486004&Description=hdr monitor&cm_re=hdr_monitor-_-24-486-004-_-Product But I have no idea about how good 'Gaems' monitors are and no one seems to have reviewed them too. Thanks again!
  2. What options do I have if I want a color accurate display that is capable of HDR10 (if not Rec709) and is good for gaming. So like: - HDR10 (greater than = 300 lux brightness) - Less than = 3ms response time - Greater than = 90Hz refresh rate - Color accurate ( ~97% sRGB, adobeRGB or DCI-P3 AND 10-bit color depth) - ~ US$400 (+- $50) Other things that would be a warm welcome but are a tolerable trade-off are: - FreeSync / GSync - USB-C in IO - Good viewing angles - Panel Type
  3. But isnt Dp 1.4 on ROG Swift using the "same transmission modes as DP 1.3" due to which early adopters are facing "noticable degradation in quality" ? I was wondering how bad this would really be.
  4. Ok. First of all, I KNOW everyone's preference of a monitor may vary due to different size preference but really I have a list of features I care about in a display in ranked order and I would simply love to learn the name of monitor(s) that meet these requirements . I don't mind substituting or removing the last 3 preferences but I'd prefer not to. So here it is. 1. 120Hz or higher 2. HDR 3. P3 color gamut 4. 4K 5. 2x USB-C w/ Thunderbolt 3 support, 2 USB 3.0, Dp 1.4, HDMI 2.0 6. G-sync 7. IPS or OLED 8. VESA mount 9. Thin Bezels 10. Modern clean look I am looking for two suggestions. One suggestion that literally meets all these requirements and one that has a couple of trade offs but not drastically for the first 4 preferences. Thanks in advance.
