  1. So I had to jump through some hoops, way less than others would have had to, but I eventually did get to speak with two very friendly Nvidia techs. Unfortunately, the facility I went to focuses primarily on driveress-automotive technologies. However, they assured me the letter I handed off to them would be delivered to those who might be able to help in Santa Clara. Overall, it looks pretty good guys. Now as for that petition I'm working on, I'm almost finished figuring out exactly what we want it to say. Will keep you all posted.
  2. It could still be software, but not driver related, as this issues is so widespread and not just isolated to computers. Consoles, Phones, even some mobile consoles like the PS VITA, (Yes I own one,) have the potential to suffer from this issue.
  3. EVERYONE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD PLEASE CHECK OUT THIS LETTER, SIGN, AND SUGGEST EDITS! THIS LETTER IS GOING UNDER NVIDIAS DOOR TUESDAY! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JEaKo6Ludnhg7gBYPC9xH-2JlFi2_P5E/edit
  4. There an Nvidia Office at AT&T Bell Labs, if you don't know what or where that is google it. I go there pretty often. I wonder how much trouble id get in for walking in? I just want to speak to a person.
  5. Hey all, its me again, I have good news and bad news. The Good: I can now play Minecraft at 1440p 500 fps and absolutely merk my little sister and her friends in in sky wars. The Bad: Exactly the same problem, despite all my preparation. I got my new rig, built it, SET UP A SEPERATE BREAKER IN MY HOUSE OFF OF A GENARATOR and through a power filter and had my father, an electrician of 20 years, check it. Power theory is out. I never once connected my pc to the internet, downloaded origin and drivers to a flash drive and copied them to the system. I also set up a HARDWARE FIREWALL! No luck, so as far as I'm concerned, virus theory is out. The top theories I have based on the evidence are the following: A. The new versions of graphical drivers are not communicating properly with VRAM/RAM B. Manufacturers are doing this on purpose to boost FPS numbers and boast "4K Compatible" and "VR Ready" on potato machines. C. Game engines are becoming dated and are simply not as compatible as they used to be with new hardware Of the above, my money is on C, and as such, I will buy COD MW, built on a brand new engine to test this theory. I haven't given up yet, but for now, I just wanna enjoy my new pc. If anyone has any idea why my post times are 20+ seconds pls let me know, I have an NVMe and everything, windows boots in 2 seconds, but POST is soooo long. Cheers lads, BJ
  6. I am in fact starting from all new parts. Specs are as follows: Ryzen 3800X MSI X570 A-Pro 32 GB 3200 MHz RAM MSI RTX 2080 tri-fan Corsair 750w PSU 80+ Gold Thermaltake RIING 360MM AIO Cooler master H500M Case In the case that it actually is a virus, I was reading up on how to protect yourself from malware that potentially auto runs, and the best solution I found aside from Malwarebytes and firewalls is to create a second user account that you use as a primary account on the pc without install rights, only entering the admin password for select downloads, thus preventing auto-run scripts. I am only 16 and I really hope this new build works ok, ive been saving every cent for over two years. I really can't afford another Dud. Pray for me ladies and gentleman, as my final components come tomorrow.
  7. Greetings Brothers in confusion, I have followed this thread for over a year and I am now 16, after suffering from this problem for over two years. I really want to solve this issue both for myself and for all of us affected. Currently, the last parts of my brand new build are on the way. What I plan to do is have the PC built, on a power purifier, disconnected from the internet, create a new email and download a free game to the PC via flash drive so I can totally isolate the system and test how it works. I plan to slowly work backwards from this point, removing the power purifier, connect to the internet, download games from steam, ect until I reach the problem. My rig might fall to the problem but at least I can give you guys an exact trigger. Does anyone have any other ideas for precautions I should take? Regards, Braedon Edit: To those interested I have attached an email I dispatched to Nvidia HR, Customer Service, and the CEO email. Before gunning me down saying, "ITS NOT JUST AN NVIDIA PROBLEM", please, read the attachedPlease Help Us.eml.
  8. New evidence pointing to power, my lights in my room are on the same breaker and when i turned my pc on every light in my room died, like bulbs burnt out and all. Crazy sheite. Yes totally
  9. Sorry M8, didnt see that Does anyone elses computer run exceptionally loud? My PSU fan is almost always on running 3D applications.
  10. I have had this issue for about a year and at that time I could find no forum posts about it other than some from 2014. The fact that this issue has suddenly come to such widespread attention would support the virus theory. Not to mention, the purpose of such a virus could be other than that of to "Make video games look a bit worse." I had this issue occur after running Destiny 2 in 4k. Perhaps the virus is using APIs in the background for crypto-mining, providing the motive of monetary gain. The graphical downgrade could just be the way it presents itself to us. Anyone else use their cards to mine BTC or ETH at any time?
  11. It could be a virus, and if it is I think it would affect memory, both VRAM and RAM. Maybe other people will help me test this, I have been getting many memory exception errors in Minecraft. Not sure if this id indicative of anything but its just something im looking into. A friend of mine made a virus that hides on hardware, 15 KB. If its something like that it could be hiding in the VRAM, RAM, or Cache.
  12. Ah, so replacing the power supply as I did would not help I see. Did try 2 different outlets but only 2. Should I use a multimeter to see how much the socket is putting out? And is a 650W PSU good enough for my setup under full load?
