nothingspecial got a reaction from omenz321 in An Update From Corsair About The RGB Keyboards...
When you think about it, that's only monday after next.
I might do the unthinkable at get mine from PC World
Edit: For all our North American cousins, that's the UK equivalent of Best Buy.

nothingspecial got a reaction from Wats in high voltage problem.
I'm guessing what you did is went into the BIOS, turned up the multiplier, and left the CPU core voltage set to auto.
NEVER DO THIS.
Go into the BIOS, turn the multiplier back down to 34, set the CPU core to 1.3v, save that, boot into windows and check it's ok, then go back to BIOS, turn up the multiplier one step at a time until it doesn't boot, then turn it back down one and you're done.
Yes, this is a layman's guide to getting your overclock, but others will tell you what the maximum voltage is and such. 1.48 is far, far too much.

nothingspecial got a reaction from nicklmg in Go Pro Hero3+ Black Edition - should we review it?
You should stand where you do reviews, with the GoPro attached to you, then film Brandon doing the review behind the main camera. Just to subvert the usual Brandon filming you in the kitchen doing the review scenario.

nothingspecial got a reaction from MxZeal in do these foams even work if my case has open holes?
Technically it should stop some of the higher frequencies (thicker the foam, lower the frequency absorbed), so if you've got whiny fans it might do some good.

nothingspecial got a reaction from Graystripe in Ubuntu Boot Disk Not Working
You need Pen Drive Linux's Universal USB Installer. Is tiny and easy to use.

Edit: And a USB thumb drive, obviously.

nothingspecial got a reaction from LAwLz in Apple releases cheaper iMac
Seriously don't understand the pricing on this. If you had $1099/£899 to spend on an iMac, you'd surely be able to find the extra $200/£150 for the quad-core version with double the storage and better onboard graphics.

nothingspecial got a reaction from xyza in Friend asked me to build a computer his brother with 2x4TB hard drives $1200-$1500
Try this: http://www.pccasegear.com/sc/Bua
Changed the drives to Seagate Barracuda 4TB, that saved $90. Changed PSU to a Corsair VS550 to save another $35, which meant I could change the board to a Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H and the CPU to an i7-4670k for a total price of $1463.
Also noticed you haven't put a case in there. I'd tell them to get their own peripherals, and go for something like a Birfenix Phenom M or Prodigy M.

nothingspecial got a reaction from TheRealSon in Help with Next Upgrade
If you're desperate to spend money, you could swap the PSU for something like a Corsair AX760. Heard bad things about those XFX units.
Failing that, get an AIO cooler. Corsair h100i will fit in your case, and i think the h110 will as well.

nothingspecial got a reaction from Dravic in Graphics card upgrade
General rule of GPU buying:
When you decide you want a new one, wait for the next new set of cards to come out. Because if you buy one randomly, the next series is guaranteed to be a few weeks away, and then you'll feel like an idiot.
