  1. i hadn't i'll have a look at it now it would be nice to get one with Aura on it since my mobo has it and ill probly get a GFX with it too
  2. the controller has no mounting points so cant be mounted behind the motherboard also its thickness is unlikely to fit behind the motherboard it would have to go in the psu shroud the cables come in to it on all sides and the connections are proprietary so it needs to be used and its powered on a molex connection not sata, also the cables are quite thick because of there sleeving
  3. This was my original thinking The case i did alot of research into in terms of space and aesthetics and availability and ive always liked full towers over mid so i wouldnt save much there without compromising my aesthetics, as for CPU cooler i was considering the ThermalTake Floe Riing 360 RGB TT AIO though i hear thats a cable management nightmare
  4. Already got the Mobo & Ram they were a christmas gift from a friend. mobo is socket LGA1151 I understand that which is why it was in quoations but when i say futureproof im thinking more something that can take a thrashing in terms of usage and workloads and still coming out swings in 5 years more as well as long term support in feature updates like in terms of rtx the potential rising importance in rt-raytracing in future graphics in games and developing for such im 28 but point taken i guess im trying to go for upper high end while i have the money with the hope of having only to replace maybe 1 or 2 parts at a time over the years rather than having to do a ground up rebuild sort spend 3000 now then 300 a year maintance and upgrades kind of approach
  5. yeah i went for the 9700k for the 8 cores tho the lack of hyperthreadings a bit meh im going fairly all in on the build but i dont have the money to go i9 and im too far into the build to jump to ryzen
  6. So im doing a new ground up build as my last pc is 10 years old decided time to just start over so far its Mobo: ROG STRIX Z390-H Ram: 2x 8Gb Vengeance LPX DDR4 (possibly to be doubled) Case: Dark Base Pro 900 rev 2 CPU: i7-9700k Cooling: ROG RYUO 240 or RYUJIN 360 AIO Watercooler but i cant decide on a graphics card .. is an RTX 2080 really worth the extra money? (its alot of extra money) or should i settle on a GTX 1080 still? or maybe something else im not considering? rtx2070? 60? the end goal of pc is going to be part gaming part workstation (im a student studying game developement so 3d modelling, coding, unity etc for workstation and gaming across the board from crysis to minecraft) thats "future proofed" for as long as possible. thoughts and opinions are welcome and appreciated
