  1. I've done that as well, both GeForce drivers and basic gtx 980 drivers. All are up to date.
  2. Around 6 months ago I ordered a GTX 980 on sale from EVGA. It came in and worked perfectly for one day... then died. GeForce logo no longer lit up, etc. the following week I talked non stop to tech support who eventually allowed me to spend $20 to ship it in and receive a new one via an RMA. I received the new one about 2 weeks later and it seemed to work fine. But sometimes my computer decides not to display, causing the VGA led to appear. Ill spend hours upon hours trying to get it to work again, I've done everything under the sun. But its no use, it turns on when it wants. I narrowed down the issue to the motherboard not liking the 980, it was an old ASUS board which means an upgrade would be expensive because I would have to buy CPU, motherboard, and ram. I bit the bullet and spent the money, I put all the new parts in and boom. VGA led. I've spoken with evga staff. At this point I am 99% sure its a GPU error but I'm not sure what to do. I can send it back in and wait another 2 weeks for the off chance of it working again. I mean 2 out of 2 have been faulty.... not very good odds. If anyone else knows what this could be I would love to hear. Thank you for your time! Also random issue every once and awhile while playing games my keyboard will give out and when unplugged my computer freezes and has to be restarted. seems like a keyboard issue obviously but I bought a new keyboard as well and I'm having the same issue. I'm at my end ;{
