  1. that doesnt make sense i dont have fps lock and my monitor is set to 165hz, i asked my friend to start destiny and he isnt at 100% usage and hes using all 8gb of is gpu. he has the same monitor as me he run his game at max setting like me. we checked in warframe too and he was using 1.6gb of memory and was at 25% usage and i was using 1.3 gb of memory and was at 40%. we have the same gpu
  2. vram as in video ram, the ram of my gpu? i may get that wrong im new to all this . im looking at my task manager and it show 4 pannels in performance>GPU, one being called 3d witch is at 100% when i play a game like destiny, while the other 3 being copy, video encode and decode. copy never go over 5% while video encode/decode is not at 0% only when im streaming. in the task manager it says that my gpu usage it at 100% but i only use 3.9gb out of the 8gb dedicated gpu memory. it shows 8gb dedicated and 8 gb shared gpu memory. also to point out the difference in fps with my friend i get 60-70 fps in destiny max settings while my friend get 120-144 fps all the time. he get 2x my fps and i only have 4 page of chrome running in the background.
  3. me and my friend have build the same pc the only difference being he is using the hhd he had in his old pc. he always get better fps in every game we play ranging from 20-60+ fps more than me. all my drivers are up to date and i use high performance power setting. i have noticed that on the 8gb vram of my gpu only 4gb is used and that my 3d is allways at 100% while copy, video encode/decode is always at 0% used. is there a way to allocate more vram to 3D? i dont know if what im saying is correct im pretty new at building pc. specs: ausus rog strix rtx 2080 16gb ddr4 3200Mhz asus z370h i7-8700
  4. Basicaly my hard drive died on me. I have a ssd that i would like to instal window on it. The problem is that i dont have a windows cd or usb with an installer on it. It was my only pc so i cant create one. What are my options?
  5. after alot of trouble shooting and checking on other forums i came to the conclusion that my motherboard was DOA. i sent it back to amazon and got a new one. i just finished building the pc back up and its now running fine.
  6. The thermal compound was just applied i checked in the bios the cpu temp and it was 30° on idle after 10 min. I cant download real temp since i cant get it to run on windows for more than 5min without it restarting and loosing all outputs.
  7. They arent connected i never use them the only thing that is connected is the power button
  8. The psu is providing power when the reset happens all my fans and gpu are working but i get no output for the hdmi and usb. Also i noticed that when i first start the pc my motherboard has 4 light that light up and close in sequence that indicate if my components are working, but when it restart those light dont light up at all.
  9. I completly removed the gpu from the case but the pc now just shutdown and restart over and over again
  10. I tried without the gpu and i cant event get to the login window it shutdown before.
  11. I just finished building my first pc. The issue im having is that when i boot up windows (enter my session and everything) , after 1-5 min it suddenly shutdown and restart. When it restart i get no signal to my monitor, keyboard and mouse. I have to switch off and on my psu to be able to get everything to work. It doesnt seem to shutdown on its own when its in the bios and the cpu temp is 30° on idle so i dont think the cpu is overheating. I unplugged everything and replugged it to make sure everything was properly connected(ram included). What could cause this issue? Im thinking my motherboard might be a defect perhapse? Specs: Mb: asus z370h Cpu:I7-8700 Psu:evga 750w Gpu: asus rtx 2080 Ram: 2x8 ddr4 2400hz Hd: toshiba 1tb (i used my old hd) My friend built the same pc with the same part and helped me troubleshoot it but with no result
