  1. We realize that SSID Boardcasting doesn't help much in terms of security, but when developing this survey we (short sightedly) geared it more towards the IT/Networking Security laymen. Thank you for the input though!
  2. As the title says, we have created a survey to gather information on how secure people are with their internet browsing habits, while also asking about malware prevention habits. We need as many people as possible to complete this survey, and International users are needed! Thanks for your time! -paratrev Link for survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1f70BvMU7hxJQmDXcCx5pHpMZeMjKUodunhzAdyT4vgo/viewform?usp=send_form -EDIT- Yes, forgetting the Netherlands was an oversight on our part but we cannot append it in because we don't want users re-taking the survey, for the sake of data integrity. Again, thank you all for your time! Don't be afraid to share this survey!
  3. I've got a dell cs24-sc, its got 2 intel xeon L5420's @2.5Ghz, 16gb of ram, 1 1tb hard drive(I dont need a raid because it mainly just runs a F@H client) and Ubuntu 12.04 desktop x64 (BTW this isnt where the server resides now. It got moved right after i got ubuntu installed)

    Rate your ISP!

-ISP:Zitomedia -They only have one plan, which promises 10mbps down. -actual: usually between 10 and 11mbps down, with between 1-1.5mbps up. -price $47 a month -rating 5/5 as it is the best internet i can get living in rural PA, and there arent any data caps.
  5. I believe it is completely dead because there are no activity/status lights, also my usb 3 ports stopped working at the same time, so i believe its just the motherboard going flaky, I have ordered usb 3 and gigabit nic cards, like i said in the original post i was just wondering what other people thought of the issue, but i do appreciate your suggestion! :)
  6. IM just going to mark this as solved because i believe its just dead. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
  7. Yeah, even after the update it still doesnt work, I even did the cmos reset lol i have no idea
  8. No, i even tried disabling and re-enabling of it through the bios i believe something just caused it to fail.
  9. Ok so I installed a coolermaster hyper 212 plus hsf (great btw) and booted my computer, got online was doing stuff, then I went to open up coretemp, and my computer bsod'd. I restarted, then noticed that I could not connect to the internet. I went and reinstalled drivers, I even reinstalled my os (didnt have much on my c: drive and wanted to re-partition anyway) I believe the nic just failed, because there are no activity lights on the port, but my switch still shows its connected. I have a cisco IT essentials completion certificate, its not much but I had a year experience in this field before I went. I was just wanting a second opinion, my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA990XA-UD3 AM3+ socket, and the newest non-beta BIOS.
