  1. So, since my last entry, I ran the tweaking.com system repair app. And it did say there was an error on my HHD. It repaired it and said it was fine. The issue of freezing on a cold boot, and not displaying after sleep is still present. So I purchased a Crucial MX500 500gb SSD. I powered down my rig, removed the motherboard battery to reset the bios. Installed the battery, and the new SSD. Installed Windows fresh onto to SSD, wiped the HHD and booted the system into windows with the introduction steps. I did this without the internet connected, so that the system would not install any drivers. And the system boot freezing was still present. So my only guess is that the RAM I have upgraded isn't working with the system right. So I looked into the xmp file (which isn't supported by my mb) and wrote down the clock speeds. I then enabled DOCP and was able to manually enter the clock speeds listed for the xmp for my ram sticks. My mb had the ram clocked as the JEDEC has listed in the picture. I manually changed the clock speeds to what is listed under XMP #1. The only two I couldn't change was the tFAW, and the tRFC. My thought process was that perhaps the RAM isn't interfacing with the motherboard properly. But after setting the clock speeds, the system still fails to boot properly. The boot process feezes as soon as the windows 10 loading screen shows up, and the little circle of dots at the bottom never appear. I am stumped.
  2. So, I figured if I booted the system into safe mode (which I was told safe mode functions without drivers) then if the system functions like normal then I know it is the AMD Driver's cause the failed boot, and the non waking from sleep. In safe mode I didn't have an option for sleep, so there is that. But in msconfig I set the system to boot into safe mode every time. So in safe mode, if I shut down the system and boot it again (into safe mode) the boot process worked like normal. I booted 4 times in safe mode with no boot problems. So it is the drivers. So I cleaned the entire HHD, all partitions deleted, and installed Windows fresh with the GTX 580 installed. Windows installed the NVIDIA drivers, so the AMD Driver's are completely gone. And after the fresh Windows install with the old card (basically my old rig with 8 more gb of ram) and the problem is still there. Boot freezes after shutting down and trying to reboot, and display not waking from sleep. Fuh! Could it be the HHD is faulty? Or the motherboard is bad?
  3. Thanks cretsiah! 1) So if windows thinks the change in hardware is infact not genuine, then how to I tell it that it is? 2) Yes I do. The Rx 580 I have has a single 8 pin power connecter. 3) So I just checked and the Link State Power Management is already off. So I turned it on, moderate to see if that made the difference, and it didn't. So I switched it back to off.
  4. I have now run MemTest, 4 passes, and the RAM is fine. I then wiped all partitions from the HHD and reinstalled Windows 10. Then let the windows system install the AMD Driver's, and the issue is still present after a fresh windows install. I am still getting no signal after sleep, and I am still getting the windows boot freezing issue. I then used AMD's own driver clear tool, uninstalled the AMD Driver's and installed my old NVIDIA GPU and the issues are still present then. It is like the installation of the RX 580 somehow ruined the system. And I have no answer, or fix to get even my old rig back.
  5. Tried an HDMI to HDMI cable. Still won't wake from sleep.
  6. I tried without the new Stick of RAM and the problem is still there.
  7. System Specs: Windows 10 64-bit CPU: AMD FX-6200 RAM: 2 (1x8gb) DDR3 Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz MB: ASUSTeK M5A99X EVO GPU: PowerColor RX 580 8gb HHD: 500gb Western Digital WDC PS: OCZ - ZT 650 W 80+ Bronze DISPLAY: Vizio 24" 1080p Smart TV through DVI to HDMI cable Keyboard: Redragon K552 RBG Mouse: World of Warcraft MMO Mouse Legendary Edition I got the RX 580 for Christmas to replace a EVGA GTX 580 3gb GPU. Along with a secondary stick of the Corsair XMS3 DDR3. Both sticks of RAM are 1600 MHz. I installed both and have two separate issues. Firstly, when I put my computer to sleep and wake it, the graphics card wont display to my monitor. Before the installation with the single RAM stick and GTX 580 I experienced no issue waking from sleep. But now upon waking, my keyboard and mouse light up, all case fans come on, the RX 580 fans come on but there is no signal leaving the RX 580. I used DDU to remove the NVIDIA drivers. I have installed and uninstalled (using DDU) the AMD drivers to both 18.12.3, and 18.12.2 and the problem persists. Upon advice from AMD my current drivers are 18.9.3 and it still wont display. I have updated the BIOS for the motherboard. I have tried a different display, and have tried unplugging the DVI from the RX 580 and reinserting it but to no avail. The only way to get out of it is to push and hold the power button on my case. That is where the second problem comes in. Upon pushing and holding the power button when the system isn't displaying after trying to wake, the system seems to turn off and back on in an instant. It is like the case lights and all fans turn off and on again within a second, and there is still no display. If I push and hold the power button again, then the system shuts off as normal. If I push the power button to boot the system it seems to start just fine and the display comes back up, but the boot will freeze on the windows screen. The little loading dots at the bottom of the Windows screen never show up. It goes from the blinking underscore in the top left corner with the Windows Symbol to just the blue Windows symbol. With no amount of time does the system finish booting, I have to hold the power button, turn it off and boot again. This time the system boots perfectly and AMD lets me know that there was a failed Boot. I have downloaded Memtest86 and tried to run it, but when booting from it my keyboard works on the first selection, but once inside the program my keyboard and mouse stop working so I cannot run the test. I have legacy USB devices turned on in bios. This is super annoying, and AMD's rep hasn't helped. Sorry for the long post.
