  1. Hey guys,

I have an existing gaming PC with Intel Core i7-7700k paired with GTX 1080, and 16GB of RAM. I wanted to upgrade to an RTX 2080Ti. I also recently ordered a 1440p 165hz Asus monitor which I will be gaming on once it arrives. So will my CPU bottleneck my GPU. Someone let me know. I'll mainly be gaming at max settings and doing school work.

    Thanks.

It wont bottleneck that much, it will be fine if the cpu has a good cooler(for example liquid cooler or a tower style cooler) and you can overclock it.

But if it has a stock cooler then that is pretty bad.

(Also what kind of schoolwork are you doing with a rtx 2080ti? microsoft excel?)

Yea it has an Asutek 550LC 120mm Liquid Cooling System. Yea I think I haven't overclocked it to 4.5Ghz yet so it's still at 4.2Ghz. When I mean schoolwork, just having my online textbooks open, and doing powerpoints mostly. Do you think I should upgrade my RAM to 32GB because that's what this PCbottlenecker website said which someone had linked the website in the forums.

Yea with that cooler the 7700k should be fine.

32gb of ram is overkill as you aren't doing Anything that would use that amount of ram, I don't see the point.
