I get that, but the one without the touchbar uses the old butterfly switches for the keyboard, the ones that have been jamming up and that has apple facing a lawsuit. I would not want to work with those on a new machine

The reason I dont go for the Pro you mention is because it has the gen 2 butterfly switches and those are a dealbreaker for me as they are the ones that break easily

The new macbook pros with touch bar is a big jump in dollars. I would consider the 2017 macbook pro (without touchbar) but it comes with the Gen 2 butterfly switches and thats a dealbreaker for me

Hey everyone, I am looking to buy a Macbook Air 2018 for school, I want a Macbook since its harder to game on and will hopefully help remove that temptation. I do however want to be able to use it for light photo editing and 1080 short video editing. I was wondering if its a worthwhile upgrade to get 16 GB of RAM or if 8 will get the job done. Any assistance will be appreciated!
