Well i did mention that it was installed on external drive/SSD. (or did i forget?)
Also the external drive can be made to local install most likely with WinToUSB (have not tested it yet)
So it's a matter of convenience what method to use.

    Nope, not only install media.

also the "incompatible system" just needs "windows to go" installation from a compatible system...
I tried on my Q8200 system to install from an 11 USB installer stick and installation failed. Made Windows to go with Rufus and the drive I installed Windows 11 to, boots into 11 fine, and it works.

With Rufus and an external SSD you need to selct "List USB hard drives" btw.

Installing with Rufus on a "compatible system" to an external SSD/drive it boots fine on an "incompatible" system (8GB Q8200 system) MBR, not GPT though.

Use Rufus. Even installs on external drives (SSDs)

LTTmurphy got a reaction from WolframaticAlpha in 60fps please !
    I don't, since I don't watch 4K myself because I can't in lack of a 4K monitor or tv.
No one does when sitting in an appropriate viewing distance for that resolution.

    ???

Let X feet be the appropriate viewing distance for a 4K TV at any size.
If you sit X feet away from that TV watching 1080p content it's pixelated.
Unless you sit even further away.

@LinusTechhas addressed this in the past several time.
File size is significantly larger, and does not make a meaningful impact in quality of their content.

they have even done experiments where they have 30fps footage uploaded in 60fps(still 30 fps, but youtube shows it as 60) and people were completely blown aware at how amazing it was, even though it was literally the same.
for their content, its pointless.   its better to film at a higher resolution and scale down in order to make editing easier.

I can barely watch 1080p60 videos on Youtube because my network connection has issues keeping up... If Linus starts outputting videos in 60fps, I'd have to downgrade the resolution to 720p60. Even more so these days since Youtube doesn't load the entire video if you pause it while it buffers completely, it stops loading after a few minutes.
So quite frankly, I can live with 30fps for live action videos that doesn't have fast paced movement if it means they look sharper.

Beside, didn't they do a test before where they uploaded a video in 60fps, but it really was just a 30fps video that had doubled frames and everyone was losing their shit that they had uploaded a 60fps video as if that mattered... yet it actually was just garbage?

60FPS for a channel like LTT is hilariously unnecessary. And IIRC they're filming at 8K then scaling to 4K, and getting a camera and storage to film 8K60... And edit 4K60... While keeping the raw files for a while... Yikes Scoob.

His gofundme specifically states that they are facing "mounting medical bills", which at the time it was posted was impossible, since he had only just been admitted. The hospital doesn't slap you with a 25k bill the moment you walk in the door. How did they come up with this number?

You can read my explanation as to why I feel this way halfway through the responses.

I know this is probably going to sound bad, but why should we be paying for his medical bills?

Surely if you move to a country where you may have to pay for medical bills, you would take out insurance to cover it. And if you don't, it's your own fault when you can't afford it
And if to that you say "well maybe he couldn't afford it", well maybe he shouldn't have moved from a country with free/cheap health-care

That would be like me moving to the US, not taking out medical insurance then complaining because I have to pay $50k to see a doctor!

I'll admit that I didn't listen to the entire video, but I did hear the vague "facing mounting bills". That's my question though, WHAT mounting bills? If he's in Taiwan legally, he's receiving free medical treatment. I feel like they're saying "facing mounting bills" because they think that's the right thing to say, assuming that since someone is in the hospital, they MUST be going bankrupt.

I could be wrong, maybe this guy had absolutely no savings and is defaulting on credit cards and stuff, but really, if the "mounting bills" are from poor financial planning, is it other people's responsibility to bail them out?

EDIT: So here's a rundown of healthcare for expats, tourists, etc. If he was living there for 6 months (it seems he has been), he's definitely covered (co payment for a hospital stay is silly low, like 100 bucks, 1k max out of pocket per calendar year): https://www.expatriatehealthcare.com/expats-guide-to-taiwan-health-care/

And here's a quote directly from the gofundme:

So... it just seems off to me. Hopefully I'm missing something.

Hot take: Why is it when anyone has something terrible happen with their health, the first thing everyone seems to do is throw up a gofundme? Why is it an automatic response to expect strangers to start throwing money at you because you're sick? Would this YouTuber throw money at his subscribers when they get sick?

Taiwan has universal healthcare, even for foreigners. He's completely covered and isn't going to face any significant medical expenses.

That said, what the guy is going through is awful. It just frustrates me that we live in a time where it's an immediate reflex to put your hand out for sympathy money as soon as you land yourself in a hospital, even when it's not required.

LTTmurphy reacted to Roswell in Support Kevin @TechShowDown
I disagree, there's a large difference between offering avenues to support content creators and starting a donation drive to subsidize someone's medical condition. One plays on positive emotion, another plays on sympathy,

While you think I lack decency, I think I lack clarification from the people asking for money:

WHY do they need 25k? Why is there no explanation as to what the money is going towards? As I linked earlier, the guy should be fully covered by Taiwanese universal healthcare. His hospital visit should only cost 100 Euros. If he's covered by Taiwanese universal healthcare, why does the gofundme claim that he has "mounting medical costs"? How in the world would he even be billed 25k yet if he just got in the hospital?! That's not how it works and it seems deceptive to frame the donation goal that way. If there is a legitimate reason as to why 25k is needed, why is there no justification presented? If you ask the world for 25k in free money, there should be a reason stated. Like, come out and say that the person doesn't have savings, his family doesn't have savings, etc. People should be entitled to that information if they're being asked to take financial responsibility for a stranger's care. A reason for this dire need of money needs to be made clear.
Lastly, you can think I'm cold or whatever you want, but the truth is I'm skeptical, just as everyone should be. There have been seemingly endless examples of people scheming and conning their way through gofundme campaigns. There have also been just as many taking the opportunity when family gets sick to get an easy payday, only to be exposed for having significant amounts of money laying around. You could google and read these stories for days on end.

In closing, as I said before, I simply don't like people taking advantage of themselves or others being sick to justify asking for obscene amounts of money online. It should be the last resort, not the first reaction a day after the guy is in the hospital.

    - Price depends on region.
    - What makes you say it is the best performing? I can tell you it performs just as well as every other stock D5 out there.
    - Bear in mind the pump you linked does not come with a pump top. You will have to add an extra $30ish for that.

Question: why are you building this 6-editors-1-CPU (6E1C) machine in the first place? Is this just a "to prove it can be done" thing? Because I don't see the practical value in it. I mean, if you just built 6 identical workstations you'd have just over $16,500 per machine if we're sticking to the $100,000 figure. Would't that work out to better performance per user? Plus, you get redundancy in case anything goes wrong. If one machine goes down, you still have 5 workstations. If the 6E1C goes down, you have zero workstations. Hell, build 7 $14,250 machines and you have one on standby in case of a failure.

If it's just a "because we can!" then go nuts, because clearly you already have. But if there's a reason beyond "because we can"... explain it to me. Anyone. Please.

Der8auer had a lot of problems getting all 6 memory channels on his 28 core Xeon to work, even without dropping it. I think he said he mounted it like 10 times and eventually just went with 4 channels.

    Actually yes it is.

In the USA and Canada it is perfectly legal to do product placements or sponsored content with minimal disclosures. In the EU and UK, product placements are very rare on TV and online video because of regulations. Sponsorships are vastly more common and must be adequately disclosed according to regulations.
The issue was that Linus did not properly disclose the product placement and affiliation of the girl using the Switch in the video. In the USA and Canada, this type of product placement does not require disclosure. In the EU and UK, this absolutely warrants disclosure and if LMG was UK or EU based they would get in deep legal trouble over this issue.

EU and UK consumers are trained to know that content is sponsored or that there is product placement because of disclosures both verbally and text and also markings showing it on screen.  American and Canadian consumers are not.
