  1. Alright guys, I've made up my mind, and ordered the GTX 960, more specifically, this one: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0113WFGZM/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=M5T5M938085RB2SH8EG8&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=863574927&pf_rd_i=desktop After benchmarking it quite often, I was really happy with the performance, don't get me wrong, it's not a powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination, but it sure as hell gets the job done, 1080p games look really good, most of them I run at ultra, sure this will depend on the game, but in general, great performance. With that said, I don't think I would be able to say the same about the 950, it might be good too, but I think the 10-15 euros more justifies the performance gain. For anybody interested, the temperatures are excellent, and the acoustics are ok. It idles at around 24-27ºC, which isn't anything near hot honestly, and under full load it hasn't got past 68ºC(that's with ultra settings, and I've also tried 1440p in recent games). So after getting this card, I searched for other 960's temps, as I wanted to know before buying, but didnt have much luck finding, and to my surprise, it runs at about the same temperature as the G1 gaming, which I was quite surprised to see, considering this one only has 2 fans. With that said, I can only recommend this card for 1080p, which I think is where it is aimed at, some games can be played at 1440p, but that's pushing it a bit too far. Anyway, thanks for helping me choose, and I shall mark this solved.
  2. While this topic is strictly about the EVGA 950 and the Mini ITX 960 from Gigabyte, I stumbled upon one that isn't too big(approx same size as the mini itx one), so I guess it fits into the "Mini ITX" category as well, and since I dislike the one fan design that I compared with the evga, I'm bringing this up. The 950 would probably perform well enough for me, however, I planned on getting a 960 since I saw that one, so I kind of dropped the 950 idea, and found this: Gigabyte GTX 960 OC:https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0113WFGZM/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=M5T5M938085RB2SH8EG8&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=863574927&pf_rd_i=desktop What do you guys think about this, does the cooler do a good job, and are there any noise issues that I should be aware of? The design looks pretty ok to me, still prefer the EVGA, but I'd have to fork out another 40€ for the 960 FTW :P. Bottom line, is this cooler similar to the one that PooPipeBoy posted below, in terms of keeping it cool?
  3. Damn, for $20 more I wouldn't mind getting one, sadly it's not possible here Yeah, I also like the 950, but gaining more performance at the same price doesn't hurt anybody...well in this case it kind of does, since I'd be sacrificing some of the things I like about the EVGA one, and few hours of thinking after posting this got me convinced to still go for the EVGA, so that's what I might end up doing.
  4. I have already seen a lot of benchmarks, possibly every single one that compares both the 950 and 960, and while in performance there's a bit of a gap, I expect to run most of what I need just fine in a gtx 950, however, since they are both basically the same in price, I thought I might as well see other people opinion. But if all goes right, and if the 950 indeed performs enough for what I need, then I see no reason to get the 960, simply because I worry about temperatures and fan noise. After reading your post, I've re-watched some of the benchmarks, and yes, while I'm a bit worried that I might regret getting the 950 performance-wise, I realized I might regret the 960 too first because it's ugly(I can clearly see that), and second the acoustics might not be of my liking. And to try to close the gap between the two, I've noticed that the increase in performance isn't worth sacrificing the cooler and aesthetics that the EVGA would provide me. So I'll most likely go with the 950, not too sure yet. will think about this for few more days to make the final decision, but I think it's the wisest choice based on my needs/likes. Thanks again for your interest in helping me choose, and point out some of the things that I could have overlooked
  5. Sadly this one is 50€ more than either of the ones I mentioned I'd get a dual fan 960 in no time, but I'm in a tight budget atm. Thanks for the interest in helping though
  6. Ah yes, I should have included it, sorry Here you go: GTX 960: https://www.amazon.es/Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-960-OC/dp/B00SJ8FZZ0/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459123961&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+960 GTX 950: http://xtremmedia.com/EVGA_GeForce_GTX_950_FTW_ACX_2_0_2GB_GDDR5.html
  7. Hey guys, I've been struggling for the last couple of days about which gpu I should go for. Since I've came to no conclusion over the last few days, I thought about asking about it here, and hopefully get my answer. As I see things, the 960 most likely outperforms the 950, although I'm not all about performance, but temperatures, acoustics and looks too. So here are a couple of things that I like about the 950 from EVGA: 1. It has the ACX cooler(which looks really nice, and I'm a bit about the looks), they say the fans don't spin until the card hits 60ºC, which is also really nice, and I dont think the gigabyte has this(but if it does, correct me). 2. Again about the cooler, it has two fans, which I like, not only because of acoustics, but looks amazing as well, not the same can be said about the 960, since it has 1 fan only. 3. It comes with a backplate, which, again, is a nice addition for the look of it. So now you might ask what I like about the 960 from Gigabyte, right? Well, nothing at all,.. so far that is. Nothing has really caught my eye about the gigabyte, other than the performance of a 960, which is the main reason of writing this. Although I expect the performance of a 960 from it, I wouldn't be too sure about the temperatures and the acoustics(since it only has 1 fan afterall), so that's a bit worrying, hopefully somebody clears that up for me. I'm mainly looking for good performance at 1080p(which is where both cards perform their best, I assume), but also want good acoustics and avoid overheating at all. Since the start I've been thinking about buying the 950, because of the ok performance, and also it does seem to have nice temps and acoustics. But i've been drifting ever since I saw the 960 on sale, since they are both similarly priced(roughly 180€ where I live). So that's it from me, I hope to hear from you guys, about which of these cards would be the best choice, opinions are very welcome and also share your experience with either of these. Side note: this topic is about the gtx950 and gtx960 only, but I'll still say this. Don't recommend me any AMD card over these, since i'll be installing Arch Linux and the catalyst drivers often suck there, it's either downgrading X11 or it simply doesn't work at all, so I'm only looking for an opinion between these two. Thanks in advance, I'll check here regularly GTX 950: http://xtremmedia.com/EVGA_GeForce_GTX_950_FTW_ACX_2_0_2GB_GDDR5.html GTX 960: https://www.amazon.es/Gigabyte-GeForce-GTX-960-OC/dp/B00SJ8FZZ0/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1459123961&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+960 EDIT: Added store links for the cards(they're in spanish but hopefully you'll be able to see what matters)
  8. Thanks, the dictionary actually helped quite a bit Thanks for the translation I was looking for, as well as the Italian one!
  9. I've tried but I have the feeling that it isn't entirely correct. You're right. Sure, that would come in handy, I haven't translated to Italian yet, so that would be great!
  10. Hello everyone from LinusTechTips, I'm working on a project, and I would appreciate some help translating it. I've made most of the translations myself with the help of some friends, but there are a few languages that I'm having trouble with. The language I'm looking forward the most is french, if any of you is able to help me, I'll leave the corresponding words/expressions I need on my program down below, so you can translate it if you can do so. I need the following translated to French : "Username Password Tab Read From/Read Write To/Write Options Logout/Log-out Visibility Return to Editor Return Change Details Change Username/Password" If you're able to translate it to other languages, let me know which languages you refer to, and I'll reply to let you know if I need those translations. Thank you in advance, Nuno
