  1. Yep, it was exactly this. The moment I hit send on the message, I said to my girlfriend "watch it be me trying to use too many devices on the same set of lanes" Thank you, it's been a long day and my brain didn't want to brain, after an hour of stressing and freaking out thinking I'd broken one of her drives, thank you!
  2. We recently bought a NVME drive for my girlfriends computer, and after installing it, it wouldn't boot at all giving the error message of "Reboot and select proper boot device" I've since realised one of her original two SATA SSD's was no longer showing in the BIOS. After taking the drive out the PC now boots fine, is there anyone out there who may have an idea as I'm stumped. I'll add the specs below. Motherboard-ASUS Strix B450-f CPU-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RAM-16GB SATA SSD's-Both Crucial MX500 500GB NMVE-Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB
  3. I never actually thought of trying to clear everything and reset all of the settings! I'll have a quick look on how to clear CMOS and try that now, fingers crossed!
  4. Ah right my bad about the quad channel, as for the RAM manufacturer all of the modules are reported as being Samsung inside of HWiNFO, I did check that as I have read that others have had issues due to different manufacturers.
  5. I recently added another 16GB of RAM to my system going from dual channel to quad channel of 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeance, I used to get a very smooth frame rate across all of the games that I used to play but since adding the second kit I am going admittedly not game breaking stutters but they are very noticeable and frustrating. The kit as far as I can tell is identical in timings and size to the previous one that was installed so I figured that they would be okay however I am still fairly new to the game so was hoping that someone out there with more knowledge might be able to help me out?
  6. I am currently running a Lenovo G580 Latop with a Pentium B960 @ 2.20GHz and 6GB DDR3 RAM, I am wanting to get something smaller and lighter which would be easier for travelling but also ideally without breaking the bank. I have my eye on the 13.5" Surface Laptop Version 1 (See link below) I want really want it for anything like gaming as I have recently built a new PC in the past couple of months, it would mainly be used for word processing and school work as I'm hoping to go back to school in the new year. The offer isn't on for long so I'm hoping to get some quick advice as to whether it will be up to the job as whilst I have recently built a PC I'm still not very good with specs and understanding what I'm reading or looking at, if somebody out there with more knowledge could give me some advice that would be much appreciated. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07HN8FDDR?pf_rd_p=330fbd82-d4fe-42e5-9c16-d4b886747c64&pf_rd_r=WKQWFGDYVH3WT9SYCZK7
