  1. New Tech Quickie episode(S) suggestion.... one episode on why graphics cards can only passively support up to 2 monitors without having "Active" display adapters. One episode on Active vs passive display adapters. One episode on MST hubs and multi monitor set ups, how they work, why you would/could use them, and what requirements you would need to push X-amount of monitors. in one of them you could also touch on if it's best to have all monitors the exact same make, model, and resolution, or having a hodge podge of random monitors, the good, bad and ugly of doing more than 2 monitors.
  2. ok, I have a windows 10 alienware 17 R4, the AlienFX board is not detected (this is the RGB controller on the laptop) But I was able to get a dual boot of my current instillation of windows 10 and a factory image instillation. On the factory image the AlienFX board is detected and everything works as expected, but on the exact same computer and everything it doesn't work on my current instillation. I've tried everything, from exporting registry of working OS to this one, deleting the command center (alienwares program for drivers, controllers, and plugins for the FX), clearing the registry of everything related to Alienware, all folders related to alienwareFX, i've even gone as far as deleting EVERYTHING on the computer that has "Alienware" in its name. and doing a fresh install of command center, both current updated version and the same version of the factory image, i've even copied and pasted everything in the factory image's folder for the command center and still nothing. I've updated drivers and installed suspected programs and settings onto the factory image trying to "Break" the FX to no success. and before you say, just do a new instillation and start over or to contact dell support.... I've already contacted support, they were clueless, they sent out a tech to replace the MOBO, didn't work, after that is when i found out that there's some kind of conflict in this OS instillation that is causing the issue. and as far as just going with the new instillation, the warranty on this laptop is almost up, and if this is happening already, i'm PRETTY sure it will happen again. So while I have a Controlled scenario of two OS instillation of one working and one not working, it's the ideal time to diagnose what is causing the issue now, that way WHEN it happens again, i'll know exactly what needs to be done, because next time I won't have the pleasure of getting any useless support from dell. Thank you in advance for any help, if you need any more information or want to ask me any questions, you can contact me on discord @MrKrowely#8714 I've FINALLY fixed it!! Apparently SCPtoolkit for connecting a PS4 controller to windows, even after uninstalling the program, left a driver in the device manager under libusbK USB Devices named AW1517, and one under system devices named scp Virtual Bus driver, and you have to uninstall then select checkbox to, delete the driver software with this driver, on both of them. after that restart and it worked. Just in case anyone else has this issue.
