  1. Cant see anything wrong in either of the slots or on the connectors I stripped the system out of the case a rebuilt on a table, left it overnight and tried it this morning, cant recreate the issue now. I'll build it back into the case and see if it does it again, could just be a mystery at this point.
  2. I built my system a while ago, custom water cooled AM4 platform. It was working perfectly, I changed out the CPU waterblock and swapped to vertical mount GPU then the problem began, from 'cold' it will throw POST errors and hang, pressing restart over and over it will hang further and further into the POST until it does eventually boot. Once its booted up you can shut down and restart without issue. Next day after its been off for hours I have to go through the same process to get it to boot. I have just reseated the CPU and its waterblock but this has not helped, any ideas? I have never come across anything like it! Have already reseated the RAM and tried with the PCIe extension unplugged, behaves the same way.
  3. Well it was still crashing, ended up RMA'ing the CPU, while its been away I threw in a 3600 and its been error free.
  4. Installed the Corsair commander and iCUE, working great, no crashes. So its either the update to BIOS 4006, the change back to windows 10, some new driver or not installing ROG Armoury Crate that's fixed it.
  5. Another night of gaming without a crash, feeling like it may be solved. I have a corsair commander core xt to install hopefully the iCUE software doesn't break things.
  6. Crashed again earlier in the week but this time when it came back on it was behaving strangely, windows events wouldn't display, the game wouldn't start at all in VR, would start to screen but took a very long time to load. Didn't clear after multiple reboots. I flashed the BIOS to 4006 and did a fresh install of Win10, installed latest drivers and the games nothing else (no RGB software) and it ran without crashing for one night of gaming, might be solved but too soon to say.
  7. I think you may be confusing efficiency with rated (maximum) output. I believe (and I'm happy to be proven wrong) that 850w PSUs will output 850w they just become less efficient (more energy is wasted) over the 80% usage.
  8. I'm running a Corsair 850W PSU Just to clarify it doesn't drop back to the desktop the system hangs with a black screen for a moment then reboots, its a hard crash. When I 'Load optimized defaults' in BIOS that did appear to resolve the issue but then I would be running at 2133MHz, I would prefer to run with faster RAM speeds if possible. Trying to recreate the problem now for a test and typically single player it appears to be working fine with the XMP loaded. Last night in multiplayer it died twice before I went back to the defaults in BIOS.
  9. My PC is crashing when playing games. Spec: AMD 5900x ROG Crosshair VIII Formula (BIOS 4004) 3090 Founders Edition 32Gb (4x 8Gb) G.Skill TridentZ Neo 3600MHz CL14 Win 11 Screen (or VR) goes black and it reboots, seemingly at a random point when running a game, have seen it in Age of Empires 4 and Automoblista 2 haven't tried any others. Windows system event log shows: WHEA-Logger A fatal hardware error has occurred. Component: Memory. Error Source: Machine Check Exception. I run with the XMP profile enabled. I ran memtest for half a day and it found no errors after 4 passes, it completes the benchmarks in 3dmark and cinebench runs without crashing. If I reset the BIOS it seems to run games without crashing or at least long enough for me to finish the session. Is there anything I can try or am I stuck with running the RAM at default DDR4 (2133MHz) settings?
  10. awesome, I enabled vsync and that has cleared the tearing, screens only 60hz but that'll do. thanks
  11. I don't believe this screen supports vsync, I already had the game set to limit to 60fps
  12. I'm using a Dell U3415W its been fairly ok, I didn't really buy it to game and I have had it for 5+ years now. It was originally for work and photo editing. I noticed in TimeSpy benchmarks some frame tearing but that wasn't really a problem, just started playing Jedi Fallen Order and theres a horrible tear across the middle of the screen a fair bit of the time, its really annoying. Is the only way around this a new screen with gsync/freesync? Running 2080Ti (I have 2 but can run with sli or without) If a new screen is the only can someone recommend one that wont break the bank with roughly the same size/aspect ratio?
  13. actually worse, the vacuum reduces the way heat can transfer, radiation is all that can pass so computer overheats, usually convection transfers heat away but without air.. nope
  14. easier, something like this https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/HE1681.html?source=adwords&ad_position=&ad_id=415703895099&placement=&kw=&network=u&matchtype=&ad_type=&product_id=HE1681&product_partition_id=888894467886&campaign=shopping_excluded&version=finalurl_v3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItK64s5ih6QIVh6ztCh0UpQAuEAQYBSABEgKahPD_BwE at the doorway blowing cooler air into the room displaces the hot air.. done
  15. it'll be for both productivity and gaming, maybe best to side towards practicality for productivity though id like something with some weight to it but not really heavy, noticed the g502 has some weight you can remove. keyboard needs to be full size
  16. heh was unaware a $3k mouse existed, probably no more than £400 total here.
  17. Currently have a 5 year old Logitech MX darkfield wireless mouse and k800 wireless keyboard. The backlight on the keyboard died a while back, the mouse is looking a bit worn so I'm looking to replace them. I like Logitech as a brand so could default to the new MX Master 3 mouse and MX Keys keyboard but am open to alternatives, looking for alternatives, high end, decent key travel (no laptop style short key presses) accurate mouse. Rechargeable wireless (Bluetooth or not doesn't matter). Any suggestions? Cheers
  18. scientific sources, 55 links that appear to be news articles, other youtube videos and wiki.. ok so where's the science?
  19. I love the micro servers but the g10 was a step down from the g8 which annoyed me, at least it seemed to be at the time. what OS are you using? I'm running freenas on mine. Getting large enough SSDs is going to be pricey isn't it?
  20. coaxial or similar and fibre optic no, you'll break the core.. anything else is likely multi stranded and will be fine unless as said you repeatedly bend it in the same place
  21. Finished the last couple of tube runs Now running a leak test, orange EK Cryofuel Cabling in the back is a little better now to
