  1. Probably what I will end up doing.
  2. To Clarify my statement further, I could buy a CPU/MOBO combo for £50 but it would be DDR3 and wouldn't make the most of the potential performance of the GTX 1060. I am looking for best performance at my Price Point.
  3. Hello All, I have recently rebuilt my computer doing alot of upgrades and have been left with a plethora of spare parts. The first thing I changed was the CPU and motherboard many months before I touched anything else and sold the old components. It was previously paired with an i5 6500 and a MSI B150A Gaming Pro Mobo. The parts I have currently are as follows: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 3gb G.Skill Ripjaws 2400mhz DDR4 NZXT Source 530 ATX Case Corsair CX600 Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo All I am missing to complete a second build (For Resale) is a motherboard and CPU. What I am looking for is a Mobo/CPU combo for no more than £150 which does not compromise on performance. I am more than happy to purchase second hand or new provided it comes within the budget. It must also be compatible with the above components. Any questions please feel free to ask. To give some context I am based in the UK so American websites are a No-Go If anyone could link some good combos which would give good performance with the above components whilst not breaking the budget that would be appreciated as I am struggling to find something within budget that will offer a good level of performance. Kind Regards, Millsy
  4. Hello, I currently use in my system a Corsair H100x AIO to cool my i5 9600K. It does a stellar job and I have no complaints about the performance. As stock, the Corsair H100x comes with a white LED which for the most part doesn’t look too bad although it can be a little blinding at night but nothing too distracting. For most people who won’t know, my build is themed black and red (please see pictures) and as you can see it does stick out like a sore thumb so my questions are as follow: 1. What’s the best way to trial how it would look with a RED LED instead of a White One? 2. How hard would it be to swap the LED’s without breaking the pump/AIO? 3. Are there any quick fixes to turn the Lights red without having to take it apart? Before everyone says “Well why didn’t you/Don’t you buy the RGB and all your issues would disappear”. At the time of purchase I; a. Wasn’t in the financial point to be able to spend the extra money. b. Had a case with a smaller plastic window which it wasn’t as visible through. c. It would be a huge waste of money to swap it now, it’s only a few months old and still performs perfectly. Specs are below for anyone that wants them, and yes I am aware the ram is different in the first two photos, it has been upgraded from G.Skill 2400 MHz Ripjaws to Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600MHz. Case: NZXT - H710 Matte Black/Red Motherboard: ROG Z390-H Strix Gaming CPU: Intel - Core i5-9600k 3.7ghz RAM: Corsair - Vengence RGB Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3600 Mhz Memory GPU: Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2070 Super Windforce OC 8gb CPU Cooler: Corsair H100x AIO Water Cooler with Corsair SP120 PE 120mm x2 Case Fans: NZXT Aer F120 x3, Corsair SP120 PE Power Supply: Corsair RM650x HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD Operating System: Windows - 10 64bit Thanks for you help, thoughts and opinions! 5. Brilliant Cheers, Its not like I can see it but its just annoying knowing its the only fan spinning of the 3, god bless OCD lmao.
  6. Hello All, I have recently purchased an RTX 2070 Super for my build, however I have noticed when it reaches betwen 35-40 degrees (usually idling or under small loads) the Left Fan and ONLY the left fan starts spinning. I use the NZXT CAM software to monitor my components and it doesn't register the fan as having spun up on there. A similar thing happened with the Gigabyte GTX 1060 OC 3gb I had prior to my RTX 2070 Super where only one of the two fans would spin up under low or no load. I do not have any Overclocking software currently in place and have recently format the PC and installed the latest drivers from Nvidia GeForce Experience App. Any suggestions on why this might be happening would be appreciated. Kind Regards, Millsy
  7. What about the whole thing with AMD CPU's needing higher frequency Memory to function to their full potential?
  8. @Tristerin @Radium_Angel Thank you both for the advice I will take a look at some videos now. If it doesn’t make much of a difference then what is the point in spending money on upgrading RAM speed at all? Why not everyone just buy the cheaper 2400mhz stuff?
  9. Hello All, As promised, I am now looking to upgrade my RAM. I am looking to increase the speed of my RAM in a Hope to increase performance. (If it makes much of an effect at all) I Currently have G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory. I am looking for at least 16gb of RAM, must be DDR4 and be either RED or BLACK, or RGB. Clearance is not an issue as I am using watercooling. Rest of my PC Specs are below should anyone require them. Budget for this is roughly £100-£120. Amazon preferred as always but open to anywhere! All Suggestions are welcome! Case: NZXT - H710 Matte Black/Red Motherboard: ROG Z390-H Strix Gaming CPU: Intel - Core i5-9600k 3.7ghz RAM: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory GPU: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Windforce OC Video Card CPU Cooler: Corsair H100x AIO Water Cooler with Corsair SP120 PE 120mm x2 Case Fans: NZXT Aer F120 x3, Corsair SP120 PE Power Supply: Corsair RM650x HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD Operating System: Windows - 10 64bit Cheers! 10. Effectively yeah, so the first build is my well... my first build. Build 2.0 is a mix of parts installed and parts to be installed. ie: The CPU, Mobo and AIO have been installed already along with the additional case fans and the SSD. The RTX 2070 Super is yet to be installed, As Ideally despite my original post I don't want to spend more than £500 knowing they sold it for £480 before and it has been relisted for £500 on PC World so I am waiting for that to restock. I thought it best to include it as otherwise it wouldn't have an accurate watt read out. The case is soon to be ordered once the GPU has been along with the PSU and cables. (Then we ask about RAM)
  11. I feel like the RM650x Covers all of my needs so thank you very much for showing me PC world has them, I had no Idea! @seon123 is there anywhere that does sleeved cables for this that you can recommend? Preferably para-cord and relatively inexpensive? Metal combs would be nice too but obviously I expect to pay a premium if everything is to be met.
  12. Shhhh I'm not that clever haha Try Now: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Millsy_001/saved/#view=jLDF8d
  13. Hello All, I am looking to make an archive of parts over quarantine to purchase (Not all at once) so I can slowly upgrade my Rig. I have already addressed the GPU and decided to go for a RTX 2070 Super, The Case - A NZXT 710 and now we move onto PSU. (Next Week, RAM!) I am looking for something which will meet the following criteria: Must be: - Able to Capably power the PC with some headroom for future upgrades (RAM Mainly but maybe a second GPU, who knows) - Under £100 - Fully Modular - A Tier or above on the PSU Tier List: Would be Nice: - Reputable Manufacturer - Sold By Amazon cause who doesn't love Prime! I have had a look through the list so I do have some rough ideas for what I would like to get but I always like to ask opinions from those who have more knowledge on the matter. (Aka, I am known for messing it up and buying the wrong stuff) Below is what the build is so far including the new upgrades mentioned above. (Please Note the RAM and PSU are still the Current Builds Spec, and will be updated as I make my decisions) https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Millsy_001/saved/#view=jLDF8d Any thoughts would be appreciated as always! Thanks! Millsy PS: Do Sleeved Cables Plug Directly into the PSU or into the extensions???
  14. For some reason I didn't see that on my initial search but it meets all the boxes. Probably passed over it as the initial images look like it has no upper ventilation, or I got it confused with the H510 which only has upper cooling for a 120mm Rad. Prior to what I originally put I meant 240mm Rad not 120mm.
  15. Hello All, I am currently rocking a NZXT Source 530 and in the future once all of my components have been upgraded I would like to look into getting a new case. I have taken a brief look around on Amazon, Scan and the likes but can't seem to find anything that particularly fits the things I am looking for. I would like to know if anyone has any hidden gems that fit my criteria which I have listed below: Must Haves: - Tempered Glass Side Panel - Metal Chassis (Not a Fan of Plastic cases) - Mid/Full tower to fit an ATX Board - Room for a 240mm AIO Rad - Preferably Top Mounted - Can fit a Gigabyte RTX2070 Super with Tri-Fan cooling. Would be nice but not crucial: - Black/Red Colour Scheme - Known Brand like NZXT (I really like their cases) - Has at least two places for a 120mm rad to be mounted (In case I wish to cool the GPU in the future) If it is of any assistance I have left my specs below: PC Specifications Case: NZXT - Source 530 Motherboard: ROG Z390-H Strix Gaming CPU: Intel - Core i5-9600k 3.7ghz RAM: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory GPU: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB Windforce OC Video Card (Soon to be a 2070 Super) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100x AIO Water Cooler with Corsair SP120 120mm x2 Case Fans: Corsair AF120 120mm Fans x2, Corsair SP120 120mm x2 Power Supply: Corsair - Builder 600W HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD Operating System: Windows - 10 64bit Thanks for your help! 16. Is it true the "Super" Series is what the original RTX series was actually meant to be like before Nvidia realised they did a bad job?
  17. Don't worry, please read the above lol
  18. I retract this statement, I'd rather get a RTX 2070 which future proofs me for any AAA games and if I choose to upgrade my peripherals. If it is just black then it fits my build fine which this one does. Red lights aren't worth an sacrificing performance for. I got a contact at PC World so I might be able to get a 10% discount on top of the already low price of the GPU as well as a heads up next time they're in stock. https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/components-upgrades/graphics-cards/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-super-8-gb-windforce-oc-graphics-card-10201364-pdt.html
  19. I like to play on max settings where possible at all times. Why Invest so much if you're going to play below 1080p.. 60hz or in my case 144hz. At that point you may as well consider buying a console. What is the best Benchmark to use for an overall systems test, rather than just CPU/GPU?
  20. After much deliberation last night, I came to the realisation performance > Aesthetics any day without question, so I plan to go for the Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Windforce OC: https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/components-upgrades/graphics-cards/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2070-super-8-gb-windforce-oc-graphics-card-10201364-pdt.html It is all Black, so its fits within my build, has good cooling as well as great performance and it comes within my budget and I am sure 8gb of VRAM will do just fine.
  21. Would this be fixable by overclocking the CPU, with it being a K series 9th Gen on a Z390 Board?
  22. If you can link me one for under £500 then sounds good!
  23. My god I feel inspired right now, makes me wanna fling my card details at the first company that asks for them! I could earn more money by opening up an OnlyFans :kappa: My issue is... I'm very easily swayed by aesthetics, ie: I could get a £400 ugly ass 2060 Super OC but what I'm more attracted by is the ROG Strix 2060 Super which is almost £100 more. I Don't think I could go to team red, as much as I would love to sit here and go "yeah it doesn't matter" I can't honestly say that is the truth, I like the Nvidia Services ie: Shadow Play Etc... Might just be me fan boying tho. I'll most likely look for a 2060 Super OC, with good cooling and decent aesthetics, that being said I'm sitting here typing just thinking about that ROG card. Realistically speaking, there isn't anything wrong with my 1060 so it kinda begs the question of why swap it at all? Based on the system specs posted above, would you say there is a need to swap or is that system being at all bottlenecked? What would you do in my position?
  24. Okay nice, thanks. Will my low frequency RAM effect performance in anyway?
