  1. Specs: I7 - 4790K (stock cooler) Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97 Corsair Vengeance 2x16gb (CMY16GX3M2A2400C11R) Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 390 Crucial MX500 512GB 2.5" SSD WD Black 1TB HDD EVGA Supernova 1000P (80+ Platinum 1000 watt) Windows 10 64bit with the latest updates Case - see below (swapped from NZXT Phantom 630 to Fractal Design Meshify C) Scenario: I helped my husband swap out the case for the above system from an NZXT Phantom 630 to a Fractal Design Meshify C to save some room on his desk (the NZXT was unnecessarily big). During the move we know I very slightly bent two pins on the mobo. My husband used Linus' video and a clean safety pin to repair the pins and they seem to be in perfect alignment as far as we can tell. Before the re-case the computer had been working very well with no issues for about the last four years. This system has never been overclocked or even pushed very hard and it has received all driver updates, windows updates, and BIOS updates. The problem: After completing the re-case we attempted to boot the PC. The computer would power on for about 2 seconds then power off and cycle like this in a loop. During this time both the main and backup bios lights on the mobo would flash red alternately. This board has Debug LEDs, but there were no codes showing. After some research we performed the following steps: - Reduced the system down to one stick of RAM (tested the 4 individual slots to make certain it wasn't a bad RAM slot), CPU, and Mobo to make certain it wasn't a peripheral issue. - Used the CMOS_SW button as described in the manual. - Tested the system with another known working PSU (Raidmax 850watt Gold). - Removed the CMOS battery overnight (about 10 hours) and reinstalled. - Bridged the CLR_CMOS for thirty seconds as described in the manual. We switched the system from the main BIOS to the backup BIOS and swapped from dual BIOS to single BIOS using the switches on the mobo. The system's behavior changed - it now turns on (again no codes on the LED Debug), but there is no signal to the monitor. The light next the the main BIOS is still red, but there is no red light next to the backup BIOS. At this point we tried these additional steps: - Tried both the Displayport and the HDMI from the mobo with two different known working monitors (no GPU installed still). - We reinstalled the GPU and tried the same ports plus VGA from a third monitor from the ports on the GPU. - We rechecked the power supply with the same known working PSU from above. - Tried reinstalling everything as it was before we re-cased. Just for giggles at this point and because we're tired. The monitor issue persisted through all of this. The system turns on, all of the fans spin up, there are no codes on the LED debug, but the light next to the Main BIOS is still red. We had just one stick of RAM installed in slot 1 and no peripherals plugged in until we were testing the GPU's ports. Have we missed anything? Did I kill my husband's Mobo? We've rechecked the pins and cooler and 100 other little things along the way that I'm sure I'm forgetting to describe. We've cleaned off and re-applied thermal paste and the stock cooler each time.To be fully transparent, BIOS issues, if that's what this is, are a little over my head. I'll provide any further information that is needed. Help?
  2. To be open about my role in this I'm just the purchasing person and not any sort of technology guru. My knowledge of the specifics here are limited. While I understand that someone on this forum may have a workaround that I cannot explore without giving more detail I would likely cause greater confusion or simply get something wrong in my ignorance. To complicate things, the team that I would need to ask for more information is not available until late next week when they would like to have a solution ready to deploy. I did not intend to cause frustration with my language in the original post and apologize if it came off as snarky or condescending. I was absolutely not meaning to give slight to anyone's intelligence or knowledge I was simply seeking to stop the whole "just buy X instead" comments because they are unhelpful in this circumstance. If anyone has a solution to this issue or knows a vendor that has these SSDs in stock I'm all ears (or...well... eyes given this is text). Thank you all for your time and any help you provide.
  3. I'm searching for (4) new Samsung 850 Pro 256gb drives. Without going into specifics please assume that a highly qualified individual has informed me that we cannot use newer or larger drives and that we are aware that we should "just upgrade" but that is not feasible right at the moment. I had purchased drives from OutletPC, but they shipped 860 Pros rather than 850s and now they're saying that they don't have the 850s in stock. I've also looked at the available NewEgg third party sellers, but they look sketchy - I'm specifically concerned they may repackaging used drives given the reviews that say people have experiences that in the past. Used drives would not be acceptable for the use case I have. Help? Anyone know of vendor that has these drives in stock? Any help finding these drives would be appreciated.
