Thanks! My job included most of what you named, hardware & software maintenance/config, email server and client maint/config, network hardware maint/config, firewall administration. Pretty much anything related to my employer's tech needs, minus writing software. I was pretty much the grunt in the IT Department

I'm still in college to hopefully find myself doing that some day. In the meantime I buy and play with equipment for personal projects.
Running network cable, terminating cable.
10Gbit fiberoptics (SFP+ NICs)
Setting up managed switches, vlans.
Building and configuring Linux based file servers (setting up pools, network services, remote access, etc.
Currently looking into making a linux based VM server for hosting numerous projects.
Various other things that I can't remember off the top of my head.
Most of this I had to teach myself. My college barely touches on any of it but to get the job I have to have the degree.

Good luck to you! There's plenty of demand for it these days. I left my last IT position almost ten years ago, so I've certainly forgotten quite a bit. You know what they say... if you don't use it ya lose it. Just by your verbiage, I can tell that you've definitely got more skill than I ever had. Keep it up!
