    True indeed.
The physical size of the die and its internal architecture can impact performance. Smaller dies might have a more efficient layout or design that contributes to faster data access. Also may have shorter interconnects, the pathways that connect different components on the chip. Shorter interconnects can reduce signal propagation delays, resulting in faster data transfer speeds.
Larger capacity dies typically require more complex management algorithms for tasks such as error correction, wear leveling, and bad block management.

Even though its late for Chia, would still be an interesting video in my opinion

Hey guys, i'm the creator of the techpowerup SSD Database. And recently on my channel i've posted a YouTube video where i overclocked an SSD as you can see below.

My question is, which one of these following articles would you like to watch as a video (english)? P.S.: I can only do one at a time since it requires a specific SSD for me to work with

Transforming a QLC or TLC based SSD into a full pSLC SSD, dramatically increasing the SSD endurance by a huge amount Video about overprovisioning, showing how different levels of overprovisioning can afect both performance and endurance. Write Amplification, where i can do the same as for Overprovisioning (showing impact in endurance and performance)
The video about overclocking i've mentioned about

Its useful, though doesn't seem to have benchmarks - It has hardware & tech specs beyond what retailers typically provide, and warns if a drive has different hardware/controllers for the same model. The speeds & IOPS listed on techpowerup are provided by the manufacturer, and are not based on independent benchmarks.

There's also one on Techpowerup with more than 1200 drives.

Good to see more companies doing this, but it's going to be a while before PCPP catches up with the TPU database.

It's with great pleasure that i announce my new Database that is hosted on Techpowerup Website.
It took me almost 2 years to successfully fill it, the project it's still in alpha stage, for the future we'll do a comparison page where you can compare side by side, not only drives, controllers, Dies, and so much more, but for now i'm just glad that we've done it.

    Any feedback is welcomed!

Love seeing new resources like this come online, especially in places that are easy for a layperson to find (looking at you motherboard VRM Google doc).

I think the "Format" column should be named "Form Factor" instead. When referring to storage devices in English "format" usually refers to creating a file system on the device, not the physical dimensions and packaging of the drive.

Though there should be a note about models that were downgraded.. for example Crucial P2 was downgraded to QLC : https://www.tomshardware.com/features/crucial-p2-ssd-qlc-flash-swap-downgrade
Some ADATA drives had their controllers changed on different revisions.

Also, would probably be worth having a mention of maximum amount of pSLC write cache a drive can have and write speeds once the cache is full. There's big differences between drives. For example WD SN550 / SN570 has something like 12 GB of pSLC, a Samsung 980 has around 60 GB per TB, Crucial P3 uses QLC but can use the whole capacity in pSQL mode but still, once you fill around 150-200 GB of pSLC the write speeds will fluctuate a lot.

Hey everyone, after many, many, many request i started making a new Spreadsheet in english since my current one who have over 1500 SSDs its on Brazillian portuguese, in this moment i'm starting updating this spreadsheet but eventually i'll finish populating it with hundreds of SSDs. If possible i'd love to have any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks in Advance.

https://3dnews.ru/938764/page-3.html Those mad lads over 3DNews (russian tech news site) are doing a really nice work of finding out how much data can certain models of SSDs write. Most of info should be understandable with basic Google Translation, but if you'll experience any problems, feel free to PM me, I'll answer as soon as possible.
Also if possible, I would love to do russian translation of this spreadsheet, I can give you my GMail in PM, if needed.

Hey everyone, since i use a lot tech Foruns, occasionally i need to google some information on SSDs in order to recommend or even comment about a specific model. And since there are a lot of VRM "Table" out there, i didn't find a "new" SSD spreadsheet. So i did one, at the moment it only has 368. And by the way, some data i couldn't find on the web so, if you guys see anything that you think is wrong or missing just let me know.
By the way, it would be awesome if you guys have any recommendation about some new models so i can add in the table. And i'd appreciate a feedback.

PS: Soon i'll be adding more info like Encryption, the NAND Flash models.
PS-2: I'm finishing the translation for an english version.
PS-3: There are only a Handful of brands beacuse there aren't as many models in Brazil as abroad. But soon i'll be adding more SSDs, specially those chineses. I even bought a couple o them(just to do this, i don't intend to use them to store important DATA).
    PS-4: I'd recommend view with "50% ZOOM".

basically yes, but is more like, deploy an script that make the shortcut on the desktop user,  first  it had to be an script to run when the user login to the pc, second, the application had to be already installed on the user PC, and you just need to  put this on the script:
@echo off SETLOCAL ENABLEDELAYEDEXPANSION SET LinkName=Hello SET Esc_LinkDest=%%HOMEDRIVE%%%%HOMEPATH%%\Desktop\!LinkName!.lnk SET Esc_LinkTarget=%%SYSTEMROOT%%\notepad.exe SET cSctVBS=CreateShortcut.vbs SET LOG=".\%~N0_runtime.log" (( echo Set oWS = WScript.CreateObject^("WScript.Shell"^) echo sLinkFile = oWS.ExpandEnvironmentStrings^("!Esc_LinkDest!"^) echo Set oLink = oWS.CreateShortcut^(sLinkFile^) echo oLink.TargetPath = oWS.ExpandEnvironmentStrings^("!Esc_LinkTarget!"^) echo oLink.Save )1>!cSctVBS! cscript //nologo .\!cSctVBS! Did you format the SSD under Windows? If you did, Windows probably TRIMmed it and no files on it are recoverable with any software, whatsoever. The only way to recover anything in such a case would be a professional company that would have to access the Flash-chips directly.
