  1. True indeed. The physical size of the die and its internal architecture can impact performance. Smaller dies might have a more efficient layout or design that contributes to faster data access. Also may have shorter interconnects, the pathways that connect different components on the chip. Shorter interconnects can reduce signal propagation delays, resulting in faster data transfer speeds. Larger capacity dies typically require more complex management algorithms for tasks such as error correction, wear leveling, and bad block management. Even though its late for Chia, would still be an interesting video in my opinion
  2. Hey guys, i'm the creator of the techpowerup SSD Database. And recently on my channel i've posted a YouTube video where i overclocked an SSD as you can see below. My question is, which one of these following articles would you like to watch as a video (english)? P.S.: I can only do one at a time since it requires a specific SSD for me to work with Transforming a QLC or TLC based SSD into a full pSLC SSD, dramatically increasing the SSD endurance by a huge amount Video about overprovisioning, showing how different levels of overprovisioning can afect both performance and endurance. Write Amplification, where i can do the same as for Overprovisioning (showing impact in endurance and performance) The video about overclocking i've mentioned about
  3. Yes, thats true because unfortunately we can't make a performance graph like we have for GPUs since its way easier to test GPUs and see a performance difference, but with SSDs its way harder, and even testing with different hardware there is a big performance difference, so in order to have a relative performance, the best case scenarios would be to find a website or reviewer that had tested the 1200+ SSDs that I have added to the database. People ask me a lot to make a tierlist as well, but thats very difficult if you understand how storage works, because the smallest things can make a high end SSD perform a little worst in some scenarios agains the second fastest SSD for example.
  4. type SX8200 Pro on the DB, you'll find literally 12 variants of the SX8200 Pro
  5. duly noted thanks for the feedback, could you do me a favor, for this type of feedback could you mail us through my name on the top of the DB so we can properly edited the DB?
  6. Thats actually a good idea, i'm going to try to implement in the future
  7. It's with great pleasure that i announce my new Database that is hosted on Techpowerup Website. It took me almost 2 years to successfully fill it, the project it's still in alpha stage, for the future we'll do a comparison page where you can compare side by side, not only drives, controllers, Dies, and so much more, but for now i'm just glad that we've done it. Any feedback is welcomed!
  8. Hey everyone, after many, many, many request i started making a new Spreadsheet in english since my current one who have over 1500 SSDs its on Brazillian portuguese, in this moment i'm starting updating this spreadsheet but eventually i'll finish populating it with hundreds of SSDs. If possible i'd love to have any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks in Advance. SSDs Comparison Spreadsheet (Made by Gabriel Ferraz) - Rev 1.2 (Updated in 01/07/2021)
  9. Thank you very much, i'll try to find on here, these NAS are quite difficult to buy in Brazil.
  10. Not necessarily, at the moment i have a 10 gig switch with a 10Gbps lan in my nas, but my internet connection is "240Mbps" (i live in a small town) At the moment i was playing in my DS1817 using X264 / X265 i don't mind using SMB, but i fear it might cause a battleneck in the 1Gbps connection on the NAS.(DS420J)
  11. I see, which model would you recommend me instead, if it can handle 1 4k transmission (would be probable mostly a 1080p though) i'm happy with it
  12. Hey guys, how are you doing? I'm looking to buy another NAS (Synology) for my syster and i, i already have a DS1817+(awesome NAS) but i'm going to need another one. I've heard about a few of them, such as: Synology DS420J Synology DS418Play Synology DS418 Synology DS918+ My questions are, the 420J is actually cheap, but can it handle 2 streaming at 4k simultaneously?
