My spare laptop for travel in a funky cheap Teclast F5. It's a tiny 11.5" machine with all of 2 ports. One is a USB-C port that has data and charging duties and it has a female micro-USB port which is even more bizarre. The USB-C charger actually puts out 12V 2A which is fine. My question is, if I get an external USB-C hub with USB-C in for charging, will it then fry any standard USB device that I plug in with it's 12V instead of the 5V that it is expecting?
Do USB-C hubs with USB-C-in tend to be "smart" enough to only provide 5V to USB and the full voltage to the device? If so, is there one that might be suggested?
Thanks for looking!
