  1. I just converted and figured it out thanks
  2. I'm currently running a watercooled Strix 2080ti OC with a 9900K running 3 480 RADS. Can anyone tell me how I can dial in my OC settings on the software?
  3. Is there some secret way of removing the collar from the fitting? I have been going at it with some of my fittings refusing to loosen.
  4. no no I never raised it cause it was happening, I raised it to 4.7 from 4.5 and 1.2 to 1.27 and then it happened
  5. I'm currently running 1.27 volts at 4.7Ghz on my 9900K and I'm wondering if that should be stable and not cause any problems? I'm currently on a custom loop with my GPU running 3 480 Rads at 1000 Rpms, the highest the package has ever gotten to was 74C but lately ill get a blue screen when playing warzone, started yesterday and has only happened twice once a day. Using a Z390 Gigabyte Aorus master board.
  6. yes because initially it wasnt a problem it sat in fine and i got a connection and a gpu recognized but when i had to clean the blocks 3 times in like the first month of having it started to be a problem.... and i stopped getting a post screen and through further checking it stopped being recognized.. thats when i went down the riser cable hopefully that fix the problem.. i went through two motherboard returns and two gpu returns.
  7. yeah I think my only option is to swap motherboards because all of the PCBs between manufacturers from what ive been checking since this problem all have that conflicting piece
  8. well since december i had the issue of it not connecting and first thought it was the motherboard or the gpu pins or faulty riser cables but it wasnt the motherboard wasnt the pins wasnt the riser cable but that piece coming in conflict with the motherboard shield not giving the connection from the very beginning.
  9. If the card was working I never would have made this post.
  10. That’s the thing I’ve been looking at other cards. They still have that piece in the first picture that will always cause the conflict of the GPU not sitting right.
  11. So I’ve been trying to trouble shoot my GPU problems since back in December. I have a 9900K on a Maximus XI hero WiFi trying to run a 2080ti Strix Edition card. I’m guessing every custom PCB has that little piece sticking out as shown in my first picture. Here’s why that little piece is causing a problem. In the second picture that piece that’s sticking is coming in conflict with the motherboard shield as shown in picture 2 thus not letting my GPU sit all the way into the PCIE slot thus not giving me a solid connection and I’m gonna assume even if I finally get pass that problem the third problem comes the right side of the GPU hits the sata ports in the 3rd photo. ive tried to use a PCIE riser cable two separate company’s and they just won’t recognize the GPU. im all out of ideas and need serious help.
  12. When I look at the PCIE slot I see the very start of the gold pins on the GPU, the little hook on the right side of the GPU that hooks into the release latch doesn’t even get pushed out it’s already out
  13. Yes it’s pretty unbelievable but when I first installed in the normal way it worked then after 3 weeks all of a sudden it stopped connecting I take a closer look and the GPU isn’t fully seated I try to push it in more but the GPU block pushes against the sata ports
  14. Yes that’s why I’m using the riser cable because the riser cable can fit firmly all the way into the PCI slot and the female and can fit perfectly into the graphics card making perfect connection on both sides. I tested it before with my old 1080 that used to use the same riser card on my current motherboard the maximus hero and it worked and when I receiveMy replacement 2080 TI I confirmed that it works with an old motherboard because I couldn’t start the system without the block on otherwise it would leak all over the place so I just made sure it worked and another PC. I’m assuming the problem is the riser cable because it’s so old and it has had some fair use being twisted and turned to accommodate the angles that it finally crapped out and I needed to order a new one so until the new one comes in it’s still going to be the riser cable that I think is the problem
  15. Also the block is so long it goes past the sata ports on my motherboard
  16. Well ever since I knew that was a problem it’s set up vertically now. If you look at the picture you showed the sata ports are raised higher than the PCIE slot therefore if the block sits flush against it it won’t seat fully into the slot like how I said it doesn’t make a full connection
  17. The newest ek Strix 2080ti block vector or quantum
  18. So the block presses against the sata ports this not allowing the PCIE of the GPU to be fully seated into the PCIE slot about 4-5mm sits out not giving it a solid connection
  19. So I’m running a 9900K on the Maximus 11 hero WiFi with a Strix OC 2080ti and due to my GPU block interfering with my sata ports I had to vertically mount my GPU and use a riser cable. The current riser cable I’m using is a thermal take one from my old thermal take open air case it came from and my motherboard doesn’t detect the GPU. before I determined it’s the riser cable that’s faulty I tested my 2080ti on an old motherboard and it worked fine both the GPU and my motherboard are brand new replacements since I first thought it was my motherboard then the GPU. But now I think it’s my riser cable. I just purchased another riser cable off amazon it has good reviews but I just want to know if anyone has had any problems with riser cables with the new RTX GPUs?
  20. But the extension cable recognizes other GPUs it doesn’t recognize specifically my 2080ti. The case has nothing to do with the GPU nor does the PSU. It is a 1200 watt psu only powering a 9900K and and 2080ti it will barely push it past 1000. The case is a 1000D no matter what way you orientate the motherboard the GPU will always come in conflict with the sata ports if not mounted with a vertical bracket.
  21. Yes I explained in the post that when I did it worked fine but the connection doesn’t fit with the water block I’m using so I have to go to the vertical mount
  22. Ok idk what to do. I’ve replaced my motherboard (Asus Maximus XI Hero WiFi) and my GPU (Asus Strix OC 2080TI) TWICE! Both are brand new pieces of hardware. I tested the motherboard all slots recognized my old 1080. I tested the 2080ti on my old z270 board it recognized the 2080ti. I’m now using both of them together again in hopes that it would work and still back at square one. The new Z390 board doesn’t recognize my new 2080ti. The Only possibility I can think of is. Because the water block pushes aging the sata ports on my motherboard I cant plug in the GPU the normal way you do horizontally (it worked before until all of a sudden I stopped getting picture and I ran into the problem I’m having now and still can’t fix apparently) so I mounted it vertically with my cases vertical mount but! But! Here’s where I think my problem is now and why it’s not working. Back when I built my old system with the 1080 I was using a thermal take view that open air case WITH the vertical mount WITH the included PCIE EXTENSION CABLE. I have a feeling the old extension that’s been used pretty harshly is the problem. BUUUUT The extension cable worked with my 1080 plugged in that was plugged into my new Maximus hero board that I’m currently using. please please I need some opinions I am having Halo: Reach withdrawals played it for the first two weeks until my computer crapped out on me!
