  1. Thanks Windows 11 That Linux value seems suspiciously low. I feel like I've met more people recently that have switched to Mint or Ubuntu. In part because they don't feel the need for a new computer but don't want Windows 11. That or I simply have met some oddballs the past few weeks.
  2. I'll have to look into that - been wanting to get one of those extensions and try out that special font for dyslexia anyway. Why the change tho? Old font was less intrusive imo.
  3. Can it be changed for individual users? Its very fuzzy on my monitors and messes with my dyslexia. Granted the old font was no good for my dyslexic eyes either - but this is worse for me.
  4. I feel like Apple will find a way to make it very difficult to "enable" side loading. It'll be some weird toggle buried deep in the bowels of some dumb settings thing. Either way I really hope it comes to all iOS users as I'd love to side load older versions of apps, especially if I go dumb and decide to stick it out with a new iPhone (still on the fence about that one. Need me headphone jack).
  5. I guess in the era of social media, a lot of money can be saved by just loaning stuff or flying in "influencers" to your HQ and have them film a few vids to showcase your product/service. I've never been to a trade show, but I have been to gun and farm shows. I always loved walking the floor and seeing all the cool new things - hell even things that weren't new. But the way LTT used to cover E3 compared to now, there's nothing exciting anymore or it's just not economical to do anymore. Either way, most people don't go they just watch videos about what interests them.
  6. It's probably been said, but it's amazing how careful they are and yet this still happened. A newer employee could have clicked a malicious email link, Linus could have leaked the password on The WAN Show, who knows. It's just scary how this happened to such a careful and tech savvy group of people. It really can just happen to anyone.
  7. Hopefully this pushes Intel to start making some advancements towards more power efficient chips. Having the fastest of something is great, but if it's too power hungry and hot, what's the point? Especially if being used in a more professional environment where that stuff actually matters more.
  8. Feel like 12gb is enough for a card like that. But then again, what do I know. Ive honestly never owned a high end GPU.
  9. I'm sitting here sipping my Caprisun and I have no idea what I just read.
  10. How many of these functions are Windows 11 only? Or very updated Windows 10? Or do they all just work no matter the version? I'm rocking a Windows 10 install from 2016 that's never been updated so idk how many of these would work on my install.
  11. The real question is, will we be able to buy them, or are they gonna be OEM only? Maybe I should start a business, claim to be an OEM, just so I can get me some. lol
  12. That's gotta suck major for everyone involved. Imagine buying a product as a solution to a problem (not remembering passwords, reusing old ones, weak passwords, etc) only to have all that thwarted by some hack. I'm lucky that I can just use the remember passwords feature in Firefox, but I also write them down on pen and paper, and store that in my fire safe. Maybe old fashioned ways aren't so obsolete.
  13. Maybe not removable like an old Nokia 3310. But at least making it easier to disassemble the device. Have parts easily available, standard bit sizes, charts/guides/instructions on taking it apart and putting it back together, a way to return the old battery or a designated place to drop it off for proper disposal - stuff like that. I suppose in this day and age, most people wouldn't think too much about replacing the battery any more though, and would simply opt to buy a new one. "Oh it's already almost 3 years old, I'll just upgrade!" I think the market has been permanently ruined in that way. No one is gonna want to go through the effort of sourcing, buying, and actually replacing the battery. Hell most people just live with a cracked screen these days. The exception to the rule are people like us, in forums like this, because we think of and are into these sorts of things.
  14. I said from the beginning this thread was gonna turn and it should be locked. Someone else commented the same thing. Yet our two comments were removed and here we are.
  15. Having a couple of those cheap as chips cards on hand is a good idea if you have to troubleshoot. I've had to do that a number of times now for friends and family over the years.
  16. That's pretty cool actually. I never understood this stuff enough to get into it myself (it confuses me ;-; ) But good thing for smarter people that do!
  17. Running your own super computer node? Trying to crack the nuclear launch codes? Mining Doge Coin? Your electric bill must be a phone number haha. But for real, I'm really curious as to what you've got going on there.
  18. You seem really upset by this. I'm just not bothered, sorry.
  19. I don't really see it that way. Maybe because I was never bothered about it from the start. I always kinda figured they'd stand good for a product no matter what. I just like the jokes.
  20. Hey I'm not trying to force anything. I just like MLG grade memes - those are hard to come by these days.
  21. Yes that makes sense. in fact I think that's almost word for word the reason too. Dunno why I couldn't think of it lol. Its basically our dislike button already. Adding a real dislike button would invite the ability to promote the wrong answers being put ontop.
  22. I think the laugh react is used in that way already. Some people have asked for a dislike or frown before, but I can't remember the reason mods say no. It's a legit reason too, I just have a bad memory and don't feel like using the search function. One of them will comment shortly tho. If anything, I kinda wish there was a "drop" style react. Like how Linus drops stuff. Or a "trust me bro" sorta one. I think those would be funny.
  23. In this particular case, I don't think so.
