  1. Ok great! Thanks again, appreciate your time
  2. Thank you so much, will do this. One more question, the CPU speed in the BIOS shows up as 3600mhz, is this correct?
  3. Hey dude, thanks man When it come to tweaking BIOS stuff Im a complete noob, this is actually the first "proper cpu" I invested after many years of saving and never had to do this stuff before. I am using an arctic freezer II 240 AIO cooler for it. So you say just use it an monitor? No initial tweaks or changes required from what I have already done in the BIOS?
  4. Hi guys I just built a new system with a 5800X3D and an Asus B550 motherboard. Is there anything I need to change in the BIOS for this CPU apart from just updating the BIOS which I did. I also turned on D.O.C.P for my RAM, maxed my CPU fan header speed where my AIO is connected to and thats about it. Not sure what else I need to change/tweak in the BIOS.
  5. Thanks guys! Also in this AM5 dilemma, I haven't done much research - what if low end new Ryzen chip is cheaper and faster than the 5800x3d
  6. Budget 730 USD Country: South Africa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 1440p AAA single player games Other details RTX 3070 Hi there I have an opportunity to purchase the below upgrade kits for the same price and cant decide which one to get. 5800X3D Asus TUF B550 Plus WIFI 16G Corsair 3600mhz RAM or 12900F ASUS PRIME B660-PLUS D4 - DDR4 16G Corsair 3600mhz RAM What would you do?
  7. Budget (including currency): 400 USD Country: South Africa Games Other details: upgrade help Good day I trust you are all well. I kindly require some upgrade advice as I would hate to waste cash and make the wrong decision. I currently have a Ryzen 2600X with an MSI B450M PRO-VDH mobo, 16gig 3000hz RAM and a RTX 3070. I use this system primarily for single player gaming at 1440p and hardly anything else. Seeing that prices are dropping and my CPU is quite old I am thinking of upgrading my CPU and mobo (apparently my current mobo doesnt support Ryzen 5000 series well, this is what I've read online). My dilema is whether I should upgrade my CPU to something like a 5800, 5900, or even 5800X3D which should future proof me in terms of CPU for a while seeing that I dont upgrade my CPU often. Or upgrade to something cheaper like a 5600X or 5700X, sell my current GPU and upgrade that as well? Any advice will be much appreciated
  8. Thanks so much @Stahlmann, I will definitely check out the Asus. I did not see that one
  9. Ah my apologies, I am from South Africa where options are limited In terms of pricing here, the Dell S2721DGF retails for the equivalent of $500(US) The MSI Optix MAG274QRF, non QD, retails for $705(US) The Asus XG27AQ also around $700 https://www.wootware.co.za/dell-s2721dgfa-27-wqhd-2560x1440-165hz-1ms-ips-amd-freesync-premium-pro-displayhdr-400-gaming-desktop-monitor.html https://www.evetech.co.za/msi-optix-mag274qrf-165hz-gaming-monitor/best-deal/14047.aspx https://tech.co.za/product/asus-rog-strix-xg27aq-27-wqhd-gaming-monitor-2560-x-1440-1ms/?utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping+Campaign&utm_source=adwords&utm_medium=ppc&hsa_acc=2983375708&hsa_cam=2075049007&hsa_grp=79299559631&hsa_ad=372624841677&hsa_src=u&hsa_tgt=pla-365619652957&hsa_kw=&hsa_mt=&hsa_net=adwords&hsa_ver=3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi8i_oNuY9wIVDevtCh3IDw5fEAQYAiABEgLpQfD_BwE
  10. Hey guys Been shopping around for a new monitor after my old TN panel died on me recently. Before posting on here and after doing a few days of research it is apparent that the general consensus is the Dell S2721DGF is the go-to monitor for a 27" 1440p 144-165hz IPS before going into diminishing returns category. I did see some recommendations around the Gigabyte M27Q but it is not available in my country and the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD which is about double the price of the Dell in my country. Before I pull the trigger on the Dell I wanted to ask on here if there was anything that I am missing that may be on par or better than the Dell at that price-point or even slightly more? I also noticed that the Dell is a 2020 model and if it will still be good for 2023 and well beyond as I dont upgrade that often? Thanks

    Fan concept Help

Hi all Hope you're well. I recently built my first PC and everything is good. Over the last few days I was just looking at ways to improve it. I have a P500a case with the stock front 3X 140m fans installed and I added another 140m exhaust fan at the rear. I have a R5 2600X with the stock wraith cooler. My temps are good CPU at idle between 35-42deg and at load around 72deg. Similar stats for the GPU. I would always like to keep my CPU(even if I upgrade) air cooled as I dont have the expertise to deal with the possible issues that come with AIO's and any form of liquid cooling. My question is will I cause any issues in airflow by adding a top fan to my case? Will I disrupt the front to rear airflow and will I "steal" airflow from my CPU by adding another top fan. I have read allot of conflicting statements such as adding as much fans as possible is best to adding more fans can disrupt airflow. I know my temps are ok but I dont mind adding another fan if it will not negatively impact the airflow with just the front fans and a rear fan. Thanks!
  12. Thanks allot guys, much appreciated. Definitely wont be going through with this deal
  13. Thanks allot man, thought as much as well. I'll hold off maybe for a used 2080 ti and sell my 1080
