  1. Looks great and ya I agree, next time you empty the loop maybe cut that front tube, 1/4 inch shorter just to take some extra outta there. Other wise its great
  2. This is just a quick 1 post rundown of what I did. I used an In Win 301 for a shop computer that’s used just to program some module firmwares, surf the web and play movies to my shop tv, very light work load. I wanted a case I could fit in my tool box and match the color. the In Win fit the case but white or black wouldn’t do, and the airflow, while sufficient for this build, wasn’t what I wanted. Right now this is just an apu stystem but once I get a new card for my gaming rig my 2060ko will end up on this. So I cut a couple holes in the front for the 120mm fans so they could pull air from there as opposed to the side panel where a lot of the air gets blocked by cabling anyways. Then it was off to get color mixed for the new paint job. 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint and 4-5 coats of clear and this is the final outcome. I’m happy with everything except the top rgb strip, tried hot glue, double sided tape and magnets. Finally settled on Velcro for now cause it’s all that would hold, I’ll find something later to replace that so I can get a clean run instead of that wavy crap going on.
  3. The only part I agree with is that you should have never been strung along. It should have been very simple from the start. "I'm sorry sir, our warranty only applies to the original purchaser and we do not offer warranty on product bought second hand". Simple concise and done. Ive worked in retail electronics for over 20 years now and I can tell you that the way cooler masters warranty is written is the industry norm. At the end of the day this is 100% on you as the buyer to have researched in advance if the warranty was something that was important to you. And you dragging Coolermasters name through the mud for most of the reasons you've listed is shitty of you. As I said them giving you hope from the start was wrong but everything else they did is perfectly fine
  4. I would have ignored the bottom two but if you already bought them then I would go with what you are already thinking
  5. Highly recommend taking an old case and cutting the motherboard tray out of it and attaching it on to your test bed. Putting brass standoff into wood will not last if you are constantly removing and reinstalling boards. Also takes away the need to measure the holes needed for your standoffs. If you dont have a case its very likely you can get one on the used market in your area for like 20 bucks, might even be able to scavenge the PCIE bracket at the same time
  6. I wont comment on borrowing money to buy a computer, thats up to you. What I will say though is that overall my Macbook is the best computer purchase I have ever made. My macbook is 12 years old and still chugging along just fine. Couple small tweeks here and there but overall its been fantastic. On that note its hard for me to call it overpriced after getting that kinda service out of it
  7. Ok right now the 5800x is available for $569 CAD compared to the 5900X for $769. For you US people thats about $166 usd difference. Is that worth it? Im leaning pretty hard towards the 5800X but if its really worth the higher price I can probably swing it since GPU are still outta wack so Ill be using my 2060 for the time being. I know there are heat issues with the 5800x but im using an open loop with 720mm of rad so cooling is not gonna be an issue here.
  8. Im not sure, although I am sure the info is readily available
  9. I very much respect Steves reviews, but he can be overly critical at times and I think this was an example of that. I mean if the OP is trying to overclock the snot out of the system than heat could be a problem, but as a standard everyday user with a 3060 in the case I dont think its a huge concern.
  10. Ive ran a number fractal cases, never had a problem with a single one of them regarding air flow. Im currently running a define 6 and its been excellent, using the same cooler as you on a couple different chips
  11. How did you bend the pins in the first place OP? Ive read lost of people talking about bending pins but short of dropping the cpu I dont see how people do it.
  12. I swear there was an LTT video about exactly this within the last year
  13. Id just attach a tube to another part of the loop and before the rad and blow, youll force the water out
  14. To answer your question though, yes the AIO pump header is where you would plug in your pump
  15. Using for a tv or monitor? I was considering it for a monitor
  16. Most of the tech youtubers have been talking lately that we are looking at about a year of this still, and even once they start catching up on orders there is nothing saying/preventing these retailers from keeping their prices at the inflated marks they are currently act, its all fucked up
  17. Broken my Arm, broke my foot, broke my wrist, dislocated my knee, and some burns when I was really little (I was that asshole kid that pulled the hot grease off the stove onto myself). Besides that nothing else except a few hospital stays due to being diabetic. When ever Ive needed stiches Ive just done it myself, im not gonna bother going to the hospital for that.
  18. Depends on what your preference is and what you wanna use for gear. I personally always go big because I can fill it with more stuff without it being crowded and I like open loops so having space is always easier to work with. Also depends on what kinda physical space you have for your computer
  19. I think you would have to go WAY WAY to big for that to ever be a factor, and even so you could just fill more fan spots to move the air
  20. Damn where were you last week when I spent $140 bucks on a corsair rad lol
  21. I knew someone was gonna call my on that, I love that define r6 though, ive used them a few times and just love building in it. I almost went INWIN 925 but the silver just doesnt work for me. And for the guys who talked about the fittings, I went bykski on those, I dont mind spending money where it makes sense but to pay 35 bucks for every 4 fittings I need when I could order them all for like $120 total didnt make sense to me.
  22. Almost finished gathering all my parts for my next open loop system. These aren’t all brand new parts. Some are in my current build and some of these parts might not even make the cut (my gpu for example won’t even be on water till I get a 3080 but I’m not paying $2400 CAD for one so I’ll use the 2060 for now). I’m clearly a big Corsair fan, I like most of their products and really want the entire rgb ecosystem controlled through one piece of software even if it has to be iCue. The only parts I’m still waiting for are a xr5 360 mm rad for the top and the tubing, then I can begin. And before anyone points out it’s stupid to cool a 3600, and even dumber to have 720 mm of total radiators for it, I know, it’s a cosmetic choice and I might very well drop a 5800 in this system before I actually start the build, tbd. This isn’t being done because it makes sense. This is my hobby and I enjoy doing it, that’s the only purpose. Also I’ve never done an actual build log of my stuff, just before and after pictures, I’m hoping this time i actually get all the pictures taken along the way.
  23. Oh it would definitely kill the motor and a lot of other systems, its just unlikely to be able to be done on many vehicles
