  1. Hi, This problem only ever occurs when I start my computer. What happens is I press the power button and the computer powers on for half-a-second to a second then powers off, and then powers back on without hassle, allowing me to use my computer fine. My operating system is Windows 10 Education, Version 1809, OS build 17763.253. The OS is 64-bit. I am using an Intel Core i7 8700 processor and 4x Corsair RAM modules running at 2666MHz, and I think I am overclocking it from 2133MHz to 2666MHz which is the speed the RAM is rated at. My PSU is an 850W P2 EVGA SuperNOVA. I am storing my OS on a M.2 Samsung Evo 970 1TB SSD via the PCIe x4 interface, and I am using a WD 2TB SATA HDD for most other files. My motherboard is an ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING. My graphics card is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX1050 3GB GDDR5. I also have an ASUS Wi-Fi adapter card connected via PCIe. My BIOS version is the latest at version 0602. Attached is the error from Event Viewer. Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem is? CriticalEvent.evtx
  2. I have the MA610P CPU Fan Heatsink. I could not fit the two fans onto the heatsink due to one blocking the RAM slot; I am only using one fan, attached closest to the rear of the case. It is meant to use two fans to pull cold air in and pull warm/hot air out. Is it safe to only use one fan for this Fan + Heatsink? Furthermore, somewhat regarding the Fan + Heatsink, I am using an i7 8700 (non K). I have attached an image of the temperatures I typically get from the CPU. The temps typically fluctuate between 40° celsius to 65° celsius. Is this considered at all normal? This is usually under near-medium to medium load (i.e. Chrome with multiple tabs open, CPUID HWMonitor open, and File Explorer open).
  3. I have a Phanteks Enthoo Pro case with a PWM hub, powered by the SATA cable from the PSU. This hub derives the PWN signal from the CPU_FAN connector, and all the fans connected to the hub derive their speed from the same 3-pin fan connector which is what my CPU fan is connected to. My problem now is whenever my PC boots, the BIOS is unable to recognise the CPU fan (even though it is connected to the PWM hub) and I need to exit the BIOS to use my PC. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I do not want to have to plug my CPU fan into the CPU_FAN connector because then I will lose complete functionality to the PWM hub as it requires the CPU_FAN connector to operate, consequently I will lose two of my fans. Also, this setup is stopping Fan Xpert 4 from being able to read the RPM of my CPU fan. Any help would be much appreciated. I have an ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING motherboard.
  4. I was thinking I had to connect my own RGB fan cable to the RGB connector on my motherboard to control my fan speed lol. This comment clarified this as I came thought the RGB cable was multipurpose. First time computer builder here.
  5. Haha, thanks. I just don't know if it will be suitable in the long-run for upgrades in the future. Something mentioned on the PB Tech website which I listed says the HDD cage needs to be removed if I want to install something else. I'm also splashing out a lot of money for a PC because I want one that will last.
  6. I have used Xamarin before and it is a demanding programming software with Visual Studio 2017. However, I believe it is reliant on a strong CPU and I need a high-capacity SSD to store the files required for programming as some large files won't install anywhere else. Basically, I am focused mainly on the CPU and SSD, which is why I chose a 6 Core/12 Threads CPU and a 1TB SSD.
  7. Hi, this is the first time building my first PC. I have some knowledge in computer hardware as I took a class this year learning about it. Nevertheless, let's get to the point. My budget is $3000 - $4000 NZD. $4000 NZD is the highest I will go, and the reason being is because I want to future-proof my PC to some degree. My PC is going to be used primarily for programming as I am taking computer programming classes as I am aiming to become a software developer. The software I will be running is Visual Studio 2017 with Xamarin. I plan on running dual monitors, perhaps in daisy chain or some other method. If I run a monitor in daisy chain I will need a monitor with a DisplayPort in and out, I think. I am aiming for a monitor with at least 1920px x 1080px, running at 144Hz, and that also has a DisplayPort and HDMI port. The peripherals I will be purchasing the core peripherals (i.e. a keyboard, mouse, speakers if necessary). I am not aiming for any high-end peripherals. I will be running Windows 10 on my PC, but I already have a copy of it. I am also aiming for a 1TB SSD or higher capacity with a Form Factor of M.2. I am also planning on purchasing a WD 1TB HDD interfaced with SATA3. The graphics card (listed below) is what I want for now. I have no intention of getting straight into PC gaming, however, when the time comes I would like to install a more powerfull GPU. Would this setup be suitable for me for my needs, and will I be able to swap out parts and upgrade them in the future? Now, I have already researched some parts (which I will provide links to).
