Yes, it would be a used phone. But it's good to know that phones get sec updates for longer. I honestly don't care about most "feature updates" It's only the security I really care about. Does anyone know for how long Samsung is planning on giving security updates on the note 9?

I'll admit, that's a fair point. I've never heard of someone having their phone hacked or anything like that. I imagine however, that there are some number of viruses designed to infect android devices. Given this thought I also imagine mitigations are released by the manufacturer to help prevent or even remove these threats.

I agree that repair isn't worth it! I'm not afraid to take my phone apart and have done so a few times to replace failing parts, (old battery, headphone jack, USC-C port, and speaker) Thank you for your input though, I was also sort of on the fence about replacing the SOC as well. I think I'll pass on it though

I'm not entirely sure what happened, but it seems that the WIFI antenna or receiver has developed some sort of fault. Because of this, I get download speeds of somewhere between 1 and 3 Mbps, which is nowhere near enough to watch youtube videos or scroll reddit. The Cellular data works fine, but I don't have much data on my plan

I'm trying to decide between a Pixel 4a and a Note 9. Is it worth getting a new phone or does it make sense to just get the older one? I don't really use my phone for much more than watching videos, browsing reddit, and navigation. I've got a budget of about $350 US to $400 US. I like the idea of the size of the note and the higher PPI, but I'm not sure if it's worth it to get something that wont be supported for as long. Honestly, I'd just keep my OnePlus 6, but the wireless has gone out on it.

My mother is looking at getting a home security system so she can monitor the house and make sure no one steals anything while her home is being rented out. Problem is she doesn't know the first thing about security systems and I'm not a whole lot better myself. What we're looking for is something with three or more cameras, two outdoor and one indoor. She want's it to store footage locally on a DVR or something like that so she can go back and watch the footage later. Also, something that connects to the internet would be best so she could view the footage from her phone while she's out and about. Where might I find a compatibility list?

Will a FE 1080 ti water block fit on an EVGA 1080 ti SC2 PCB? The one without thermal pads is the FE. The only differences I can see are that the SC2 has a DVI port and the right side of the PCB has seemingly less stuff on it.
