AnnoyedShelf got a reaction from Rybo in Is this a good liquid cooler for CPU?
realistically most of the liquid coolers are the same inside.  Most of them use the same asetek pump design.  Just pick one from a trusted brand and it'll be fine.  Would also be good to make sure it's compatible with the mounting hardware on your motherboard.

AnnoyedShelf got a reaction from Gorou92 in RTX 3000 Series...where are all the reviews?
Embargo for founders edition lifts on the 14th iirc, 17th for everything else.  You do realize that an announcement does not necessarily correlate with reviews coming out right?

AnnoyedShelf got a reaction from zeusthemoose in I SPILLED SOME WATER ONTOP OF MY PC PLEASE HELP!!!!
Best thing you can do is to leave it for like 48 hours.  Make sure there's really no more water.  If you're lucky, it'll turn back on again.

I've known people that have spilled entire coffees into their machines, unplugged right away, dumped distilled water in (to clean off all the sugar) and then follow it up with a couple bottles of isopropyl alcohol and have them survive.

It's really just chance at this point.

Thanks, having the software you've suggested for virtualisation as a base to start from will help out a lot. For Ram per VM really would only need 8GB at most. the time consuming part of my job that I want to run simultaneously (waiting for and image to load/transfer etc)

AnnoyedShelf got a reaction from SpookyCitrus in Is this a normal FPS on Rainbow Six Siege for what I have?
varying textures, polygon counts, particle effects, edges for antialiasing to process, etc.  This concept isn't exclusive to R6S either.

AnnoyedShelf got a reaction from ReneS in Does my laptop (Lenovo Legion Y540) support an external monitor with g-sync?
It should be able to run G-Sync on your external monitor.  I don't see why not.  So long as you have a MDP/DP connection to the monitor and recent enough drivers it should be able to run G-Sync or G-Sync compatible (Adaptive Sync).

Is there a way to replace the shitty capacitors yet?  Had a ton of them die at work from caps exploding all at once.

3DMark is probably your best bet.  It gets pretty close to worst case scenario.  Run it on loop for like 30 minutes, that should get you the result you're looking for.

Honestly Google is your friend on this one.  Go read reviews of the laptop and see what the reviewers say.

A cursory search on Notebookcheck brings up this review, and despite being a slightly different SKU, should tell you what you need to know.

Well for 1, the first one is 1x8 so he's not making use of dual-channel.

For the jump from 2x8 to 2x16 I would assume it has to do with the 16GB sticks being dual-rank.

A cousin of mine had his parents do this.  The thing is, unless the app is installing an administration profile on the phone, you can just turn off location services and go off the grid for a bit.

just get a cheap unmanaged switch.  That way you can just plug it in and it should work just fine out of the box.

To be completely honest, I'd go with the Clevo for better build quality.  Sure, they aren't usually full aluminum chassis', but they're constructed damn well.  Had mine for 2 years, and there isn't a scratch.
