I'd say go 16gb for safety if you can afford it, but if not I think you will be fine if the gpu and cpu can handle the workload -

so in a way it isn't fair, but console games are likely to go to 60 fps soon. Try your test again when it becomes more mainstream for games to do so

Console games are designed to run a 30fps, so it runs smoother than a pc game at 30 for a pc game is usually geared for 60+

If it already corrupted the data, which sounds like it did, you need to reinstall the apps to be safe you can also wipe the drive it was on.

No, that would be painful better to wipe hard drive and reinstall if that was needed. What did you do to get rid of the virus and what kind was it?
