I recently moved my brother's PC into a new case (GPU upgrade wouldn't fit in his old one) and it made me realise how poorly the computer shop stuck it together in the first place.

He always complained his PC was loud, and remarked at mine (self built) being quiet. I thought "well, your case is a cheapo and probably full of dust, mine is a clean R4 with sound proofing". But turns out the computer shop just plugged his case's 100mm fan directly into the PSU via 4-pin molex. It was always running at full speed.

Also the whole experience has made me want to build more PCs.
