I have just set up ubuntu 18.04 on my new pc and after getting some of the software I ended up looking up microcode on synaptic package manager. Turns out I have both the amd64 and intel microcode installed. Now i don´t know whether I should remove the intel one or just leave it - i'm leaning towards removing it. Thanks

Hi I am having issues with my mouse during ubuntu instalation. I have tried 3 different mice on all ports but the one 3.0 port being used by my bootable usb. still, the one next to it that is of the same type, isn´t working for the mice either. the light on the bottom of the mice lights up, so no problem on the part of the usb port, i dont think. Also all mice but one didnt work at all during bios and the one mouse that did work, failed soon afterwards. Now... As I am during the installation process, i dont think I should turn off my pc, however as nothing is being downloaded yet, maybe I can?? I don´t really know. This is my first build and have already had my fair share of problems to solve. Still I think the effort will pay off :) The keyboard had never failed until now. and I am not even sure that it has failed me. I think it could be that all it needs is for me to click the window for it to do its job. MSI B450 tomahawk max Ryzen 7 2700X Palit 2060 Super 8 GB Ripjaws V 3200mhz 970evo plus 500gb Can I just turn off my pc and try to see if I can install through client? still dont know how id do that but with the help of communities such as this, one can do anything :D.

USB 3.0 on a 3.2 motherboard header
MachineLearning posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I know its a terrible waste... But can I connect my cases 3.0 ports to my motherboard 3.2 USB headers? The way I think of it, its only a bottleneck problem, and it will run at 3.0 speeds, not a functional problem though. What do you think?- 1 reply

powersupply 20 + 4 pin power-supply
MachineLearning replied to MachineLearning's topic in Power Supplies
Thanks man. took me so long to solve this problem. First pc build -
Hi. I am building my new build and when I was plugging in my 24 pin power-supply, i noticed something that might be an issue. The thing is the 4 pin connector has a plastic obstruction which doesn´t allow me to plug it in next to the 20 pin one. I thought I should plug it the other way (by turning it around), but there are a couple of printed arrows and a 20 and 4 respectively, indicating that the way I was doing it initially is the right way. What do I do? I don´t think its a defect of the power supply

Fan connected to pump fan place holder
MachineLearning replied to MachineLearning's topic in Cooling
Its a b450 tomahawk max. I want to put 5 fans in as it was advertised it had the option for 6 fans including the cpu fan -
Hey LTT fans I'd like to know whether I could connect a case fan to where a pump fan would usually connect to. The entry looks the same, and I can´t see a reason why it wouldn't work, but since I can´t see reasons why many things end up not working, I came here to ask you guys. thanks

According to pcpartpicker the ryzen 7 2700X is incompatible with the B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. I checked on msi’s list of supported cpu’s, and its missing. What makes me find this specially odd is that is supports the 2700 and 2700X pro versions and the 2700 (non pro). https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX/#support-cpu I mean… the only reason I would see is that pcpartpicker takes its info from msi´s website and msi made a mistake. But if that is so, then I don´t understand the lack of builds using the two. What else could this be? I was really looking forward to purchasing this combination of items. Also where can I find the appropriate ubuntu 16.04 drivers for this board? Thanks

Hey guys. I was wondering where I could download the latest Ubuntu 16.04 drivers for a B450 Tomahawk Max board and for a Ryzen 7 2700X. Thanks.
