  1. Budget (including currency): N/A Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photo/Video Editing and AAA Gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in trouble-shooting, as my build is already pretty much planned. Like many others, I got on this track because of Linus' video(s) about separating PC and office. I'll be running dedicated DisplayPort cables from my RTX4090 to my monitor(s) to maintain 144Hz compatibility, and as the PC will be in the rack next to the networking equipment for direct 10G networking, my only other consideration is peripherals and general USB connectivity from the office to the rack. I have planned to purchase a CalDigit TS4 and connect to it using a single Corning Optical TB3 cable, thus having all my peripheral connections in one box, in addition to SD card and charging capability. However, recently I've been reading a lot about incompatibility issues between Corning's cables and the TS4. I've already reached out to CalDigit to see if those issues are related to all aspects of the hub, or only to the display transmission capabilities (which I won't be using anyway), but I haven't received a response yet. So I'm reaching out here to see if I'm making this more complicated than it needs to be. A TB-hub seems the easiest or most practical solution but to guarantee compatibility and functionality, are direct links going to be the more practical solution going forward? If so, what suggestions would you make to connect between the office and PC? The distance between office and server rack is about 8M. Not astronomical, but it's one floor down and one room over, so it would mean running additional conduit than I've already run. I don't believe USB 3.0 (for card readers/drives) can cover that distance without being optical. USB 2.0 maybe, but that's only good for the webcam and KB/M. Just for complete transparency, my parts list is here. Items in bold are already purchased. Those not bolded are just waiting on sales or other discounts, but they're pretty much decided on. 2. Yes, this thread is being necro'd but I just wanted to come in here to say thanks for posting this. I completely agree that Colin's sound profile for the A50's is very muffled. Maybe it was built specifically for music, (haven't tested that out) or maybe it's just a case of, like a colorist, spending too much time looking at it and needing to go away and come back to it, but for gaming is was definitely not usable.
  3. Sorry for the necro, but did you ever figure this out? My setup is similar, 30" 2560x1600 and a 24" 3840x2160 (4K). Both connected via displayport. Have also tried HDMI. If I play a YouTube video on the 4K monitor it's out of sync. If I drag that browser tab to my 30" (even while playing) it's in sync.
  4. Thanks @Minibois for the user-names. I've sent him a DM, so hopefully I get a response back.
  5. Hey Linus! In your recent Amazon Basics video, at 6:09, you open a mouse and make the comment "you made poor Tyler inventory all this stuff" and on the bottom of the mouse is a small QR sticker. I've been looking for a good inventory management system for our production equipment at work and I'm very curious as to what you're using. Would be very grateful if you could share what it is and whether or not you like it. Cheers,
