  1. so I figured it out. The reason this is happening is because the retailer, somehow weakened the three little plastic pillars holding the control chip to the membrane before selling the board to me. somehow the board managed to stay together but eventually gave way. This is why i gradually lost connection. I was planning for a custom shroud anyways so this works nicely media.io_20200228_204143.mp4
  2. Well that's weird cause It's literally been sitting in it's box for a while; I pulled it out only 3 days ago. So it's definitely not spillage... I guess I might as well crack it open see for myself, it's off the warranty anyways. Also, would you rather I get the same keyboard again, or is there some other budget keyboard that might be better than this (I would prefer mechanical but something like this keyboards is fine too)
  3. hmm, guess I'll get a replacement, Could it be because I plugged it in to a USB 3.0 port? Cause I just noticed a battery simple next to my USB 3.0....
  4. Yup it's definitely the keyboard, is there no fix fort this? It seems rather strange how quickly it died
  5. I have a Cooler Master Devastator 3 Combo and my problem is with the keyboard only. I was using it today to type up an essay, and then suddenly I noticed one of the keys not working then another key stopped working and so on... Eventually the whole keyboard became unresponsive. The only on right now is the red light and the num lock light. I have tried pressing: fn+F11 (it's built in lock/unlock keyboard key) fn+Win (It's Win lock combo) Win+F11 (Thought I might as well) I've tried playing with the light controls and the light doesn't change either; it's just the default bright red. All this happened in a span of minutes. I have no idea why it decided to commit sudoku on me, but I would appreciate it if someone could help me fix this.
  6. I see, so the GTX 1050 is like a "high-end" mx150. Atleast that clears things up, I'll run with a locked 30fps maaaaybe 40fps with a slightly lower resolution. Thanks a lot guys EDIT: Hol up, how do you guys explain this tho Cause mine is also desktop graphics not the mobile version and my cpu is wayyyy better sooooooo
  7. Wait isn't GTX 1050 supposed to be newer and therefore better than a 970?
  8. I have an Acer A715-71G-746H with: - Intel i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz (Turbo: 3.8GHz) - GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 VRAM - 16GB DDR4 RAM Now my problem is that I've been struggling to play games at a solid 60fps at even low-medium settings, but I've seen people getting a smooth 60fps on high settings on most games with stuff like gtx 970 and a worse CPU. For example I can barely get 30fps with several lag spikes in Deus Ex Mankind Divided on medium settings with MSAA disabled meanwhile here's someone getting a smooth 60fps with a gtx 1050 2gb, but with a much worse i3 processor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaqJMXlgI_w Can somebody let me know why my graphics card is acting up like this? What should I do to fix this?
  9. So I've been having this problem for a while. Dolby Audio opens up normally at windows start, but for some reason, a few months ago, I noticed that changing audio modes would not affect the sound in any way at all. I've tried to roll-back my drivers, upgrade my drivers, and even uninstall it completely and reinstall using the drivers provided on the laptop's support page. But, I've never been able to fix it. I'd highly appreciate it if anyone can help me with this.My laptop is Aspire 7: A715-71G-746H
  10. There is a number that says "Cat: CN5084"
  11. Yeah but I still want to know where these come from
  12. I didn't think of that, I'll have a quick gander
  13. Yeah this is essentially a fake mx performance, but I don't wanna pay that much for a mouse
  14. Now I've been using this mouse: This was one of those cheap, but very reliable and comfortable mice. Now ofc you can see that's been scuffed quite a bit which is why I've been looking for a replacement. Now when I looked up online I found these: Even Amazon has it: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Full-Size-Ergonomic-Wireless-Scrolling/dp/B078HFRNSP/ref=sr_1_65_sspa?keywords=large+silent+mouse&qid=1550787050&s=gateway&sr=8-65-spons&psc=1 As you can see they are all the same mouse just rebranded by different companies. So I wanted to know who is the original manufacturer Cause I really wanted one without any branding whatsoever, like the one I have now. Any help is appreciated
  15. I tried soldering once..... Let's just say I'm not touching a soldering iron for a while now ? Also, since then I found a way to silence my louder, larger (and more comfortable) mouse without soldering. Thanks for the suggestions though!
  16. I mean I don't expect anything too much from cheap mice, but then again I don't really care too much about sensors I just want a silent mouse that can fit in my palm. That being said the second one seems like a great choice. Thanks for this
  17. So at the moment, I have a Logitech M331 Silent Mouse. It's a great mouse and is also very silent (just the way I like it). There is however one problem: I have large hands and the mouse is fairly small so I end up having to hang my palm off the back and rest it on my mouse pad because I have a full-palm grip. When I google "Silent mouse", all the mice seem just as small as mine. So I'm wondering, what are my options for a large, silent mouse? Any suggestions are appreciated ? P.S.: By large I mean something the size (but not the price) of the MX performance, ROG Spatha and the MX Master.
  18. Welp, I guess I'll take your word on it. Thx guys
  19. So should I go for it or nah? Cause the website and everything seems like a well established site soooo... I dunno ? EDIT: There's this as well: http://www.betterbatt.com.au/why-shop-with-us/#positive-reviews
  20. So I'm new to the forums and was hoping you guys could help me make a decision. I have a healthy Vaio Laptop (VGN-CR353) that is working on Zorin OS (it's fast with windows 10 too, but I decided to go Linux for an old lappy like this one). The laptop works just as good as a new laptop minus a few luxuries, but its battery is virtually dead. It runs out instantly and charges for hours so I use the laptop with the power cord, but recently I found this: http://www.betterbatt.com.au/s/laptop-battery/sony/vaio/vgn-cr353/ Is it safe to buy a battery like this? I've heard many cases of 3rd party batteries blowing up so I'm kinda sceptical. Any help would be appreciated ? PS: Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong part of the forum.
