@dizmo " It deteriorates." That's an urban legend. I've had and read SD cards from over a decade+ ago that work fine!
@Windows7ge Only the fake junk from China would have issues like that. Having been produced by a trusted manufacturer who also successfully pulled off the 512GB size that was previously touted as fake or impossible, I'd trust this new SD card with my life hands down if I could afford it.
Everyone else, I get the fear of MicroSD chips-- believe me, I've been there, and I hate them too... but there's no reason to doubt a standard size SD card from a certified name brand like PNY, Lexar, Sandisk, and Samsung. The easiest way to buy with confidence is to get the new card in a store (if available) or from a reputable seller, or at least someone who provides provably real pictures that they took of the product.
Think of it this way; this is why LinusTechTips.com has certain rules about selling in the classifieds section-- and why eBay and others have huge protection policies in place.

That's not what I was referring to. I was trying to make a joke about whatever device you put it in having a max capacity SD card limit. As in the FS can't accept a card 1TB in size.
Kind of like how the MBR has a partition limit of 2TB forcing you to convert to GPT.
That's what I was getting at. I wasn't questioning the validity of the product being genuine.

@Windows7ge Now that you mention it, I do have to wonder how stable an SD card greater than 512GB will be with any FS. Based on what I read, exFAT should be able to handle it, but you make a good point that some OSes might not be able to address it either way. Maybe the few of us who end up getting an SD of 1TB size will have to suck up the overhead and strange nature of using NTFS on it, and only logically using it for mass file storage. (there aren't a ton of great, rich photographers out there that would want this much space without added speed anyway)
