  1. yeah I grabbed an x399 mobo for like 170 USD refurbished. And yes it's not going to become the main gaming PC it's going to be the second PC so me and my girlfriend can game together and once I buy the parts for the dedicated gaming PC the TR will become the host for a few server projects and some NAS stuff as well. nothing important. I was just wondering if/what problems people are seeing right now if they actually have a first gen TR if it's minor performance IDC if it's hard crashes then I might care.
  2. Hey guys so I just paid for a Thread-ripper 1920x for my new gaming rig / server. this will be my interim gaming PC while I wait to get the rest of the parts for the actual gaming PC. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the 1920x or first gen thread-ripper in general. I have heard about reliability claims but for a price tag of $150 USD I couldn't say no.
  3. Hey bud I don't know what you're doing as of now but I would return that. No one buys blower style unless you want to water cool or you have to put this in a server. The system builder ripped you off. Yes the card performance is pretty much the same but they charged you for a quieter cooler card and that is false advertising. Her in the US we would put them out of business for those kinds of things. Also I just bought the same card from Asus with the intention of water cooling it. I wouldn't leave it as a blower cooler because it will be way too loud. Anyway just my 2 cents. I hope you enjoy it.
  4. I just bought the turbo 2080 today. Should be here next wed. I'll tell you how it goes. It will eventually get water cooled though.
  5. So while playing destiny 2 I get 98 to 99 percent usage at 140-180 FPS. This in itself isn't bad and if I set a frame rate cap of 60 even at 1440p highest settings I see GPU usage at 45-70% or so. (via task manager) Again no big deal. The problem comes in the form of my screen goes black for a few seconds and basically making it impossible to play. It seems to happen more in graphically intensive part in the game ( go figure), but it does happen in less intensive areas outside of fights. This never happens in a cut scene as those are much more prerendered ( I would assume) and don't see over 20% GPU usage. I have tried freesync on and off with no change. I have a brand new LG monitor 1440p 144hz and comes with some nice freesync software and is built around gaming. I have not done any special software to change the freesync range and I have not done any monitor overclocking. I haven't found my issue in particular anywhere yet. If any of you could help that would be great I seem to only have this issue in destiny and to a much lesser extent the division 2. ASUS prime X470 Pro R7 2700 32 GB 3200 Mhz C16 RX 580 8GB Corsair 510 M.2 960GB boot drive Corsair 510 M.2 960GB game drive Corsair RM850x in white Corsair 140mm fans galore fractal define S LG 32GK650F-B Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I may try some screen recordings and see what comes out of that. It might show me that it's a monitor problem instead. But for now, I'm just very confused.
  6. So I bought a 30 dollar server. And it has a SAS card installed. But I'm not sure what this cable is for. I ran through the forums but if its there I didn't catch it.
  7. I'm having the same issue on my new bios. I just updated to a UEFI bios for the Rx 580 I just bought. But I need to set up some new drives and can't use the bios now. Actually I haven't really even seen the bios and what the settings are since the switch.
  8. I really wanted to give AMD a shot. So can we get some help around here?
  9. I'm having the same issue as well. Brand new RX 580 i5 3550 Corsair CX750M (that I bought hoping I would solve it that way) 10 gb of RAM. Toshiba 240 GB SSD boot drive 2x 560 5400 rmp Toshiba HDD in raid 0 (currently disabled and not installed while trouble shooting )
