It would help to see a report from CrystalDiskInfo. That drive health doesn't look right unless the drive has been used a ton. I've got drives that are over a decade old that are nowhere near that worn out, and even for a low end drive like a Green I wouldn't expect that much wear from normal use.

I think they are already using Western Digital Dashboard.  If true I would trust that over anything else as vendors often use SMART records in a none-standard way.

If there is 16% life remaining, it means a lot of the NAND cells have gone bad. You are on the verge of data loss. Return the drive to wherever you got it from and don’t trust that seller. You have a damaged or severely worn out drive on your hands.

Have you made sure that TRIM has been run recently?

In Windows you can go to "Defragment and Optimize Drives" to see how long ago TRIM was run. If it hasn't been run in a few months, click on the drive, then click "Optimize" to run it.

Very occasionally one can break an electrical connection like that which is a duplicate ground or something and the chip will still boot even if it will have wonky behavior in some situations.  Most of the time it just fails though.  I’m thinking this has to be a ryzen pga, in which case you should be able to take some tweezers and after putting on an anti static strap you can simply remove the pin from the hole.  There’s a decent chance it was just badly soldered and simply came off. It is not completely impossible to solder the pin back onto the cpu (depending on the shape the pin is in) but it’s not an easy job either.

great job! don't forget to select the solution!.

oh you selected someone else even though I recommended repaste first.

it may be the psu, but that's also really hot for a 580.

I have a gtx 645 which used to spike up to 97 degrees too, and I replaced the thermal paste, cleaned it and now it barely reaches 85 degrees. After 4 years of use, clean your gpu cooler with a duster or a vacumm. Make sure you hold the fans so they dont overspin while cleaning it. And when you repaste the gpu, make sure that you use rubbing alchochol to clean the gpu itself, and put fresh thermal paste. Dont use too little thermal paste, its better to use more. I recommend grizzly or arctic mx silver paste, but for me noctua thermal paste worked perfectly fine.

That's not normal at all. That's worse than a 5 year old RX 570 I own, and that card still has the original thermal paste and two failing fans. It's also sitting directly above a second GPU running at full power, so it's not running in ideal conditions.

You should remove the cooler and reapply the thermal paste. Give it a good cleaning while you've got it apart. It sounds like your heatsink isn't mounted properly for some reason.

Yea, that card should not be that hot, it is highly unlikely that PSU caused it.
Temps should be between 80-90C, 97C is very close to max operating temps of most GPUs, probably the temps spikes to 100C+ so the GPU shut itself down to prevent damage.
And clock speed really affects power draw therefore heat output, therefore reducing max clock speed helped you.

In general, after 2 years (if you purchased it new), you have to clean it, if still toasty, then thermal paste replacement is in order.
While you're at it, clean the whole PC.

4 years, have you cleaned them within the 4 years you have it?
Take it to a repair center and ask them to replace the thermal paste, it is likely that the thermal paste has been used up.
After that, undervolt the card, I see that you don't apply undervolt, follow this guide.

    1. Are gpu fans spinning? according to that screen 0 rpm but that may not be correct.

    2. update bios/ddu/reinstall drivers

    3. if that doesn't work you may need to repaste your gpu.

Are you using the latest BIOS version? It could be a compatibility issue, which newer versions might have fixed.

Turn off XMP, and see if the problem persists. You have to do A/B testing with this kind of thing. Older Ryzen chips have notoriously bad memory controllers, and don't handle high speed memory very well, so you might have to just turn down the memory frequency until it cooperates.

    Hello everyone,

So I sort of have a non issue on my hands. So I recently just completed my first PC build, and everything seems to be running better than I expected for everything to come out. My issue is that I can get the ring around my power button to light up with RGB, but I can't get the front panel RGB strip to light up. I think I have everything plugged into the motherboard correctly now, as I just rearranged the Power LED cables and that got the Power button RGB issue solved, but that leaves a power LED slot open on my G Connector which I suspect indicates that I need to plug in 2 more wires to get the front panel RGB working.

I removed the front panel cover and found a SATA cable that is linked to a 4 pin male connector, so I don't think that can fit in the front panel connectors on my motherboard. That seems to be the only other wire I can find.

My question is: should I have a total of 4 Power LED cables (2 Positives, 2 Negatives) to get both the front panel RGB strip and Power buttons to light up? Again, this is such a non issue as everything seems to be running smoothly and I think RGB looks sorta tacky anyways, I'm just really curious to see what it looks like considering I spent $80 on the case. Any advice is much appreciated!

User benchmark is actually really not reliable.  If you want to see the real difference watch some benchmark video from steve, jay, hardware unboxed and some more and then make up your idea of the difference between the cards.  It will also depend on the game you play most of the time.  Also avoid the 4gb rx5500 xt ...

Personally I would go for the rx5500xt 8gb and I have a preference for sapphire and power color brand, but that's just me.

5500xt uses GDDR6, has a higher clock speed, and is a generation jump. Spend the xtra $10.

What is the difference in performance?
I was wondering about this myself, but in regards to my GTX 760 I had to install due to GTX 970 is unable to play games without rebooting or logging out.

this site is great for comparing GPUs:
UserBenchmark: AMD RX 5500-XT vs 580

basically there is not much difference although you can pick up a RX 580 second hand very cheaply has people are selling their mining rigs. whereas the 5500XT is not old enough to have a large presence on the second hand market.
