  1. Thank you all for the feedback you are very helpful. Everyone is suggesting Thermalake for power supply. Is it better then Seasonic or Corsair? Also I've been shying away from water cooling because I don't have the time or the inclination for maintenance. I have been told that you need to replace the water at least once a year. Is it true?
  2. Thanks for the answer. The WIFI option is nice but not necessary as the computer is going to be located right next to the router. I assume we are talking 32gb memory minimum (2x16)? I heard that AMD is a bit finicky when it comes to virtual machines, your thought?
  3. Budget (including currency): 3,000-4,000 $ US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: This is supposed to be my main computer and one stop shop. I am planning on using it to play games from old abandomware to the latest Assassin's Creed. It needs to run VMWARE because some of my old games are installed on virtual machines. I am using my old computer today to watch my collection of ripped and not ripped DVD and intend to continue with the new one using VLC (no Plex). I am planning on taking the plunge and installing Home Assistant as I start to to upgrade my flat. Finally it will need to run Topaz Video Enhance AI and support Pinnacle Studio 24 and Paint Shop Pro (latest edition). Other details: No peripherals are needed, I prefer to play on a 1080-1440 resolution and with the highest refresh rate available. I may upgrade my screen two years from now. I know I am asking for a lot from the new computer. Normally I would buy several computers for specific and similar tasks but I have decided to consolidate and upgrade my infrastructure. Thank you in advance for any help or guidance Jack
  4. A Dell Inspirion 5570 went the way of the Dodo. Last time I buy Dell. Allah yerhamo.
  5. Thankfully 90% of the screws in this model are the same. I had to do a dry run in order to get the S/N of the part before going on ebay. Thank you for the help.
  6. My main worry is the sticker on it says the power is "DC: 5V 0.28A-0.50A" instead of "DC: 5V 0.50A". I am worried the discrepancy might lead to it frying the computer or at the very least damaging it. This is my first time trying to fix a computer on my own.
  7. It looks the same as the fan in the picture. The only differences are the following: 1. The colors of the cables coming out of the fan are different. In all the pictures of this fan online there are 5 cables coming out of it. Mine has 5 cables also but they are in different colors. 2. As I said before, the sticker on it says the power is "DC: 5V 0.28A-0.50A" instead of "DC: 5V 0.50A". I am worried the discrepancy might lead to it frying the computer. 3. Though it looks the same, it doesn't have the sticker with the HP S/N.
  8. My fan on my HP pavilion 15 recently died. I bought a new one from e-bay. When it arrived it looked the same as the picture but the manufacturing company was different (Xuirdy or Xuirdg). I can't find any information about the company online though their internal S/N for the fan is used by them for fans for other computer (of various companies). Also the sticker on it says the power is "DC: 5V 0.28A-0.50A" instead of "DC: 5V 0.50A". Should I return it and get my money back?
