Also, many coolers come with a small tube of paste or with paste pre-applied. Check the product information before you run out and buy some (though you'll need to re-apply at sometime, I guarantee it, so buying some now might save you frustration during the build if you smudge what it comes with).

Just get whatever has good reviews within your budget. Arctic Silver is one of the well-known ones, but performance between entry and high-end is within a few degrees of each other.

Revealed Nvidia GP100 Analysed... full GP100 specs extracted

300 watt single-GPUs. I'm okay with it if performance justifies it though. Still waiting for info on Polaris though so I can see if I should get a freesync monitor.- 30 replies

Corsair and EK will replace any parts their AIOs leak on within the warranty period. If you need the performance or can't fit a big tower in your case of choice, then go for it (and I think the H100i GTX just looks straight-up smexy).

Tesla Model S gets a facelift for the 2016 model year

So if you want them to change the back, middle, and front of the car, then you basically want a different car altogether. -
22190002 points currently. It's only not folding when I'm gaming. Rig's in my signature. I actually got my GPU overclock up 20mhz yesterday after figuring out I can push it higher since f@h doesn't really use the memory. I hope you get enough data! Edit: it might be useful for you to get the team data in addition to specific member data so you can see what we're doing as a whole.

reporting PPD for 980Ti

I meant to say "try dialing back the driver," but you got the point anyways. Glad it worked out for you. -
NVME on Rampage V Extreme

Might be a better question for the storage-specific sub-forums. -
NVME on Rampage V Extreme

What motherboard do you have? Some ASUS boards can fit little cards in the M.2 slot and run a cable to the SSD. Not sure if it'll fit under a card though, and you have to have bought the 2.5" version of the SSD. -

If that doesn't fix it, and you're not overclocking: try turning dialing back the overclock. It'll also crash sometimes with videos or games running. -

Sounds like a driver issue. You also need to let WUs run to completion to get accurate PPDs (if you aren't already). -
Good stuff, though the Pure Rock averages ~$5 more stateside when you include shipping. I'd say it's worth it considering the noise difference.

Source?

I'd say just get yourself the basic Aurora package and wait for another "all ships flyable" weekend closer to the game launch to upgrade. Ship balance and flight mechanics are bound to change between now and launch, so I wouldn't go spending a bunch of money on a ship you might not like in 3 months (although you can earn everything in-game too, so I guess it's all a moot point with enough patience).

What is the cheapest package to get the full experience?
Deil Grist replied to Nexxus's topic in PC Gaming
To me, the "full experience" is making progress from the ground up. Just get the basic Aurora package when it's on sale. -
Here ye go. Includes some basic instructions and software suggestions.

You'll want to have one drive to write to and one to read from so you aren't bottle-necked by the read head or the bus (also known as having a scratch disk). Seeing as a 1TB SSD costs about 3x as much as a 3TB HDD, you could afford to do a 480GB scratch disk SSD and 3TB HDD for archival for the price of a single 1TB SSD.

Do you need more than 128gb ssd on a laptop?
Deil Grist replied to Pooherino ツ's topic in Storage Devices
128GB is fine if you can always guarantee that you will have access to the cloud and you don't game/video edit, but you're reliant on stable and fast internet for everything. If it works for your usage scenario, go for it, but I feel like the $20 more for double the storage is worth it for the wiggle room and for storing local restore points. -
They're loud and don't perform well. It's fine if you don't overclock and the computer isn't in your bedroom, but not really outside of that. For $20-30 you can improve both those attributes.
-
Agreed. If you're going to get a $30 cooler and put two $20 fans on it to improve performance, you might as well just buy a better cooler instead.
-
How do the acoustics compare though? I've installed a couple 212 EVOs for friends and I can't hear them over the case fans at load.
-
Have you been replacing them yourself when they die? Good lord. You should try to RMA them at least; reputable brands will replace them for just about anything. Corsair and EK will replace components that their AIOs leak on too.
