Chances are it's because you are running the ram in an odd configuration. Uneven ram configuration is not usually supported so will not be grabbed by the os for use. Can we have a screenshot of the taskmanager showing the ram section? Also info on the motherboard/ram types would be helpful

The V in GVK is for Ripjaw V, K is black
TZ is Trident Z, R i think is RGB

Olllllli got a reaction from LukeSavenije in What to do with spare pc parts?
You could sell them, but I never would. I'll be building a second PC in a few days from my spare parts as a PC I take too friends houses as I don't really want to take around my expensive main PC. I will also be using this PC for my virtual machines and testing out potentially virus infected things. We also have a NAS, just using spare parts. And we have a couple media PCs from spare parts.
You can never go wrong with a spare PC.

Those are VRMs, not cpu cores.

Sounds like you probably didn't orient the fans correctly, if they're pushing in opposite directions. Did you plug anything into the CPU_FAN header? Usually you plug the AiO pump in here IIRC. If there's nothing connected then you'll see the error message about the CPU fan.

Olllllli reacted to LukeSavenije in What is the weakest link in my Gaming PC?
I can't specify on that. but for gaming in general, a gpu will be much used. I see many systems with a 4770k or 4790k on overclock combined with a 1080 ti doing just fine. and knowing a 780 performs like a 1050 ti, I would replace it if you can

For what it is worth, I don’t have this board, but I looked at the specs and could not find it listed, nor when looking at the photos could I see one. But that’s just from observation so I may be wrong.

Olllllli reacted to Brent744 in Amd ryzen 5 2600 overclocking
Before I purchased the liquid cooler I currently have on my 2600 I tried overclocking on the stock wraith stealth. I was able to overclock to 4.0 with stock cooler however, temperatures were becoming way too high under heavy load. After about 20 mins in Prime95 at 4.0, the cpu was getting close to 90 degrees C so I stopped the testing and purchased a CM liquid cooler. You can overclock to 3.9 comfortably and temps are reasonable, even under load.

For just 10€ more get the 3200MHz... if you can afford it.
Either of them is fine though, not that big of a difference, especialy not with 9600k.
