That is true. And I know my place in the pecking order here. ?
  4. Building a new system, I have 2 2080ti FE in Nvkink. I got to the point with the new build I needed a graphics card. I turned my old system off unplugged it. DC'd everything I needed to, pulled the second card out. Both cards were working fine before I pulled the 2nd one out. And they are working fine now. But I needed to get back on my old system, Windows 10 would not recognize the card. No Control panel either when I open Gefore Exp, it said I needed to download the driver. And in device Mang. I got a code 43 which fixed it's self when I disabled and re-enabled the card. But the first problem still was there. I spent 5 hours trying everything I know. I swapped the card out the same issue, uninstalled the drivers etc. So I put the second card back in hooked up NVlink and fired it up and it all worked again. I would really like to have my old system up until I get the second running. Anyone got any ideas what this was? Thanks.

Lol Well the wife as claimed one and I will use the other as a second overhead monitor.
  6. That is crappy, I too am sorry that is happening to you, one thing about Newegg that people overlook, I myself included, is that they are a storefront for other sellers. And it is they who give the crappy service most of the time. Not Newegg. It has happened to me once. I wish that Newegg policed them better. When Tiger Direct got bought out it left very few places to buy tech at a good price, good shipping, and good customer service. I left hours away from any place that would sell the things I need, mail order is a godsend.
  7. They are older models. Samsung U28D590 https://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-u28d590d-led-monitor-28-lu28d590dszc/ I have 2, they do not have VESA mounts, but I found a company that produced adaptors so you could mount them. I have been very pleased with them. I might keep one as a spare monitor, gave not made up my mind on that yet...
  8. I'll look into it. Thanks for the heads up

well it's now one less monitor to deal with,  she get a new monitor & you have less clutter in your desk, it's a win-win situation.

  14. Welcome to those that come here to see what I am all about.

  15. True, I see your point. Not enough coffee yet here. Thanks for bringing this up.
  16. There are ways to shall we say cloak one's mac address. But I will leave it at that, do not want to feel the ban hammer.
  17. Not been watching LMG that long. But here is my2 cents worth. I like it, and have learned a good bit from them, as well as a couple of other tech You Tube folks.
  18. The cameras have a static IP I will set her Macbook up with one tomorrow. I'll let you know how that worked. Thanks

  20. You are correct on all of that. I will hardwire one and see what happens and will look into a simple router just for them. My apologies for not giving you more information.
  21. ( I hope this is the right place for this topic) I live in a remote area so I have a security system that as part of it has wireless IP cameras. And I have an issue that I am not able to pin down. My daughter got a MacBook Air for her birthday, and anytime she turns it on my camera video feed goes down and when it is off it comes back online. The cameras are still connected to the network ( they have a static IP) but no videos feed and the software shows them as disconnected I have tried different software and it is the same. I am really at a loss as to what the issue is. I really do not want to buy new cameras if I can help it. And seeing as the MacBook is from her grandparents it is staying. So, if anyone has any idea how to resolve the issue I would greatly appreciate it.
  22. Well, I was thinking about hosting my own, but do not know much about the ins and outs. DO not want to throw a lot of money at it, this is just something that has caught my eye. Plus I have no aide the cost. as with anything tech, you can throw a lot of money at it. I am looking to use 6 to 10 tb storage. Power usage,( my work system pulls 800 plus watts) just want it to be something for the household to use, for my wife and daughter to be able to backup school and work stuff and to be able to stream movies, etc. Noise would like it kind of quite as it would be in the attic where the router and cell booster is at. I know it is a lot, thank you for taking the time it respond to this topic
  23. Working on a kid's system and I was looking for things to make it pop a bit And found this, https://www.amazon.com/Montana-Effect-Luminescent-Transparent-Varnish/dp/B01LW0B0XL/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=uv+spray+paint&qid=1554054743&s=gateway&sr=8-3 I thought this was neat and I am going to try it.
  24. Sigh........Folks I am well aware of the date. Just take the joke and enjoy.
