If u cant run ethernet then powerline it. For gigabit don't buy the cheapest av-standard go for either G.hn or AV2

If the OP has COAX at both locations he can look in to MOCA 2.0 adapters. They are kind of expensive, but work better than power line adapters as COAX was designed to carry data while electrical wires were not.

get a better wifi card, and possibly a better access point.  You should get an AC spec card, and router or access point

Why don't you switch the roles?  Connect their PC to the wifi and yours to the ethernet.
Also if you simply cannot do that, there are some network spliters available on the internet. With 4 ports I think.

Get a router that supports 802.11 AC. If possible, it should also support Wave 2, or MUMIMO tech, but those are expensive and not really needed to achieve 1Gpbs.

Better router, better card if that's an option. Power line adapters can be a better solution but can be messy as well.

Well, that depends on what region you're in. 
I can recommend The Babadook, The Host (assuming it's not the Stephanie Meyer one that's on Netflix) and Antichrist.
They're available in the US, but I don't know about anywhere else.

but installing this thing was an absolute nightmare. had to remove the plastic gigabyte shielding off the z170 gaming 7 boards and the metal thingy above the processor just to have headway to tighten the bolts, all in all a process that too about an hour and a half to complete...
 
I made the assumption that since the dark rock 3 wasnt so hard to install this wouldnt be either, how wrong i was.
 
i dread having to removing this thing in the even of reapplying thermal compound in the future. i think ill go for an AIO cooler in the future.
 

Some routers can be used as access points, but as far as I know still require being connected to the main router through Ethernet.

I just re-setup my pc and i forgot to plug the cable into my gpu LOL
that wil most likely fix it thanks 

It is where it uses the iGPU (Intel HD) to do all the recording for you so you take no performance hit in game.

so it turns out the problem was a cable was blocking the gpu on the motherboard....
i feel stupid now, but thanks for your help!

should be a breeze with the h440, use the cutouts!   also cable ties are a man's best friend
