Decided to chuck the bike on the roof rack, head to Torpoint, and then ride up to Princetown and back, via the Widowmaker descent, and through Plymouth.

The moors are very rugged and horrible. Very beautiful though!

Overall it was 2100ft of climbing, 188 watts average for the 4.25 hours I took to do the route.

Hey hey hey, leave the Taycan and Panamera alone. They're fine. Me and my girlfriend own two Taycans, and they're bloody amazing. Especially the Turbo S.

But the SUV's? Blegh. No. Weird bricks with Lamborghini DNA. No. Bad.

Welp, I've decided to retire. Not sure if its temporary or not, but right now I'm not working.

I've decided to add the 4th Porsche to the stable, in this case a 992 Sport Classic. I managed to get one of the 1,250 that will be produced, which I'm incredibly chuffed with.

It's packed with references to previous models; Has the same engine as the current 992 Turbo, green tacho like on a 550A, all rear aero is from a ducktail like many 930's, yada yada. And it's actually a manual, not a PDK!

Also paid over £200k, which isn't too pretty for a 911. Although hopefully it'll double in value eventually like the 997 Sport Classics did.

Most likely the next car will be a 914/4, as they're quirky little things that I have a weird love for.

Eh, I tend to find they look a bit better IRL as the covers are slightly translucent. I don't really mind them.

I just find they're a nice common feature among the 992's. Even the new GT3 RS has them. Atleast it does on the leaked images.

Also the prototype wing with DRS made it to production, which is amazing.

Yeah thats the PCCB's. They're brilliant brakes, and well worth the upgrade, especially on the Taycan. Adds to the feeling of the whole vehicle being "clean"

It also actually lets the car stop before you get into trouble, which you often could with a claimed 761 hp, which in Porsche numbers means its probably about 800-820 hp, as they tend to severely under-report performance figures.

Such as with my 911 Turbo S, which porsche says will do 0-60MPH in 2.6 seconds. In reality, it'll do 0-60MPH in 2.1 seconds on an unprepared surface/normal tarmac.

Kind of hilarious seeing people rationalize the idea of a backpack (or most any other product) not having a warranty.

He's basically informing you that he's not confident in the long-term durability of the product and forgoing a basic consumer protection that literally every other manufacturer provides.

Schiit wall warts are basically a transformer in a plastic blob - that's it.

This actually might not be a real serious issue - a likely cause is a loose lamination in the iron core, which is rattling around 60 times per second. This is pretty common, and on big transformers I've had limited success by dripping unthickened West System epoxy onto the suspect laminations. Obviously that's not an option on this.

The other possibility is that for some reason you're saturating the core. That could be because your AC line is higher than it should be (is it? I've seen outlets in North America at 135 V before), or because the transformer has developed a short between layers on the primary, reducing the number of turns-per-volt.

If you're saturating the core, the thing will get hot (very hot...) in short order, and will eventually burn up. Usually these things are designed to "fail safely" but I still don't like to chance it.

Either way, it's defective, so I'd contact Schiit. They'll replace it, and most companies like this will want to know if some of their hardware is having issues. They also might want to get the old one back for a failure analysis. Schiit doesn't make these wall-warts, they buy them from a company that specializes in that kind of thing. A single faulty unit isn't much cause for concern, but if it becomes a regular thing, then they may need to look into changing suppliers. In any case, this kind of information is very useful for a manufacturer to have.
