  1. I figured out that my desktop window manager was using quite a bit of my gpu when gaming and this is what caused the switch to integrated graphics. does anyone know how to make desktop window manager not use so much gpu?
  2. This is what I see when I look at task manager when the frame loss occurs
  3. I know its switching because I pulled up task manager and as soon as the problem would occur I would switch to it and see the intel uhd 630 graphics at 100% and the 1060 at 20% or lower so it is definitely not my imagination.
  4. So I recently got an acer predator Helios 300 with an i7 8750h and a gtx 1060. I got this to have a portable gaming device but when I'm playing games the computer will randomly switch to integrated graphics for 5-10 seconds. This makes the game basically unplayable while this happens and I have tried everything I have found to fix this issue but nothing seems to work. I made all my nvidia control panel settings to prefer the 1060 and set to max performance, I changes all the Intel graphics settings, I have the latest bios, and I did a clean windows install. i even contacted acer support and they said that there is nothing I can do. I feel like this shouldn't be an issue with a gaming laptop is there anything i can possibly do to only use the dedicated graphics while gaming?
