  1. Recently I have noticed red horizontal lines appearing on the screen. They only last an instant, and only maybe once every 15 mins or so. Parts of my setup are overclocked, but they have been so for a month and a half without issue. 1050TI with mild overclock. I already tried lowering it earlier today and updating drivers to no effect. Core +122, Memory +472 Ryzen 5 1600, 3.7GHz overclock. 2x8 DDR4-3200. Running at 2800 with timings 14 16 16 16 36 It's probably noteworthy that the driver update caused 3 or so red lines to appear in short succession at one point. Naturally I'm quite worried. Is there anything I can do or is something dying?
  2. It now works. In the end, I think I had two problems. 1: My processor being overclocked to 3.8GHz upset something with the new RAM. It is now fine with 3.7GHz. 2: The RAM needed to be below 2933MHz (As pointed out by others in this thread). It is now fine at 2800MHz 14 16 16 16 36
  3. Ignore this post. I think the RAM is dodgy.
  4. Ignore this post. I think the RAM is dodgy.
  5. memtest86 has sometimes passed for a setup that has later crashed the pc, just fyi. It's evidently not catching everything.
  6. Thank you. If I set these 3200 chips with 16 18 18 36 timings to instead work at 2800 with 14 16 16 34 timings is that likely to be okay? I've scaled down the CAS timing in proportion and played it safe with the others. There doesn't seem to have been an instantaneous fireball but is what I've done alright? On a related note, is there a "better" option between a C14 2800MHz and C16 3200MHz? Maths tells me that they complete the CAS related task in the same time.
  7. I ran it without DOCP at the auto settings and it passed. It's frustrating. Do you have to stick to native RAM speeds like 2933 and 3200?
  8. I upgraded from a single 2800MHz card with better timings, so slowing down this new RAM will mean it was slower than before I upgraded.
  9. Well I ran the memtest86 thing and there were a LOT of errors. I guess that means its a lost cause? It was fine up to test 8 (random number sequence) where it reported 14417307 errors and stopped.
  10. In which case I should send it back right? Because it's supposed to work at the speed its set to.
  11. I have just replaced the RAM in my machine with 2 Corsair 8Gb DDR4-3200 sticks. I went into the BIOS and chose the DOCP setting which it is designed for, and the computer boots and does most stuff fine. When I play games which I know have high RAM load, the computer will eventually (quickly for some games) just freeze. No response to anything whatsoever except killing the power. Obviously I can't tell for sure what's causing it but I assume its the RAM. The windows memory diagnostic found no problems. Thoughts anyone?
  12. Hello all. I bought my computer from Mesh Computers, who apparently just stick in a piece of RAM that they have lying around. As a result, my computer has one stick from this pack: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE®-LPX-64GB-(8-x-8GB)-DDR4-DRAM-2800MHz-C14-Memory-Kit---Black/p/CMK64GX4M8B2800C14 I want to add another stick of RAM to my machine, but frustratingly I can't seem to find anywhere selling a single stick of this type. Similar corsair 8Gb sticks have different timings. Does anyone have any advice or should I just try and sell this one and buy two others?
  13. The speeds end up being almost the same when you take timings into account, but does anyone know which of these would be best, or if there is a better option out there? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Patriot-Extreme-Performance-PC4-25600-PV416G320C6K/dp/B016A29PWA?SubscriptionId=AKIAIPHVZTVH6LZ5BFZA&tag=hawk-future-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B016ATK2O8&ascsubtag=tomshardware-custom-tracking-21&th=1 https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/h8dxFT/patriot-viper-4-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3200-memory-pv416g320c6k https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0134EW7G8/?tag=pcp0f-21 https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/MYH48d/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2b3000c15 I just want a good 16Gb set that isn't crazy expensive.
