  1. Hi Ive solved it now, one of the sticks of ram was out of place and sort of bent, i took it out and it worked fine, but now im stuck with 2gb of ram lol its a school laptop but it was last years, and you get to keep it after the school year, so its technically mine now, just still with restrictions im gonna wipe the hdd and do a fresh install with no restrictions when i get back home, extra laptop yay thanks heaps
  2. Hi everyone I have an Acer aspire one, not sure on specific model, running windows 8. I was just using it and the screen went kinda choppy, and it said, "your computer has run into an error, it will restart" and it just turned off. When it turned back on only the power led came on, when the hdd led normally does too, and nothing came up, just a black screen, and the hdd led doensnt come on, neither do any of the other leds, other than the power led. I let it sit there for a couple of hours, but still nothing. I did some things that I read, like take out battery and hold power button and then put it back in. I can't do anything else since the screen is just black, and is completely unresponsive. Also I should mention this is a school laptop, with school restrictions, but I'm on a vacation at the moment, so i cant get help from school pc mechanics. I have no idea what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi guys, I am building a new PC for myself, and I am located in Australia, budget is around $900-$1000, but the lower the price the better haha This build is purely for gaming and browsing, nothing else, and I want to get the most performance out of it, aesthetics and such are a non-issue for me. I would prefer this build to be based around either an ASRock H97M-ITX/AC if the platform is Intel, or a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN if the platform is AMD, as I like the compactness of an ITX build and AC Wifi is a must as thats what Ill be using, and these are the cheapest decent mobos with AC wifi included. Also, I don't have much interest in overclocking, so non-k CPU's welcome. Thanks for your time guys, and for any input
  4. Well 760's are almost the same price, around the $300~ mark, so I'll go with a 280x. Thanks!
  5. an EVGA one is $429, but a Galaxy one thats on sale is $369
  6. Yes I would, everything gets at least consideration from me Is the XFX Cooling solution sufficient? As it is on sale for $329
  7. Hi all! I am building a new PC, and would like to see if I can improve on anything. My budget is $1000-$1100, will be browsing, light photo editing and gaming, although I do not HAVE to have the highest settings, I don't mind playing a game on medium as long as the framerate is good, I will be gaming on a single 1080p monitor. PART LIST Intel Core i5 4590 ($225) ASRock H97M-ITX/AC ($129) RIpjaws Z 8GB DDR3 (1x8) ($99) ADATA Premier Pro SP900 256GB ($159) Bitfenix Prodigy Black ($79) Bitfenix Fury 650W ($159) TOTAL - $850 REASONING CPU - I am not interested in OC'ing, and I'm not much of a power user, don't think I could use the power of a higher end CPU anyways. Motherboard - Not the best, but it has everything I need, no need for Z97 so it's H97, and one thing I do need is integrated WiFi, as there is only one expansion slot on the mobo, and this seems like the best and the best priced for my needs. RAM - 1 stick of 8GB, I intend to upgrade to 16 later, so I don't wanna go for 2x4, since there's only 2 memory slots on the mobo. SSD - 256GB is pretty much all I need for now, will get a mass storage drive in the future. Case - Bitfenix Prodigy, pretty self explanatory, pretty much only mITX case whose aesthetics I like. Power Supply - The PSU I was gonna get earlier was a Sliverstone 600W 80 PLUS BRONZE, for $99, and I was gonna get separate sleeving extensions, those were gonna cost about $40~. I thought for an extra 20 bucks I get the sleeving pre-attached and 80 PLUS GOLD, why not? GPU - Not yet decided, I don't need a 780 Ti, but I was thinking maybe a 760 or a 770 for my needs. I will also only be buying from PCCaseGear, as I've had bad experiences with places like MSY, and I fully trust PCCG. Thanks in advance!
  8. Wait a minute I pressed FN + F1 and then FN + Mode and it worked, thanks!
  9. I just tried your method and unfortunately it didn't work, is there some sort of software from cooler master or something or is that just mine and I should return it?
  10. Hi all! I just bought a CM Storm Quickfire TK with blues, and loving it so far, but for some reason the only keys that light up are the arrow keys and the function key. I have tried the FN + Brightness Up and Brightness mode, is it faulty? Thanks in advance!
  11. I know, I asked if he mined with them, and he said he was gonna, but he ran out of funds to do so, not sure whether to believe him tho, I got a pic of the receipt and they were bought on the 12th, so 5 days ago, can't be that bad, can it?
  12. Well my build is gonna be white/red, so that blue PCB is sort of a killer Is there any backplates I can use on it or something?
  13. Hi all! I am building my new rig, and I was browsing through some classifieds, and I found someone selling their R9 280X's/. There's 2 of them, they're the gigabyte windforce ones. Here is retail price for them, and from this guy I can get 1 for $220 and 2 for $440, is that a good deal? Also, is 280X CF a good idea, or not? Also, another big issue I have, it has a blue PCB *shudders* Can I Plastidip over the PCB with black plastidip, or not a good idea? Thanks in advance! EDIT: or is there a backplate I can chuck on it?
  14. Awesome! Would you guys recommend this phone? I'm in the market for a new android phone but my budget is tight, and I also LOVE the look and build quality of the HTC One line, would this be a good option?
