The PSU has already been purchased and therefore I wont be buying another one. I agree with the Mobo change and will likely go forward with that change, but why the SSD change?

Im no expert, but you have about $1,500 worth of parts. (Excluding case, and adjusting for use) I believe you should let a more experienced person answer this though, I just tallied up all the part costs.

UPDATE: Everything is fine after a week, no adverse effects. Some keys are still a little sticky, but that's because I still have't gotten around to deep cleaning each single key individually. I got scared when I started it up and it brought me to the bios without me doing anything one time, but it just needed a bios update. lol.

I created this after watching a certain Youtube video and dreamt of owning a white themed gaming rig. Compared to other gaming PC builds, this one is semi-affordable. Especially when you take into account the fact that most INSANE gaming builds cost $1,500-$2,000. If you wanted, you could always save a few bucks by using non-rgb fans, dropping the water cooler, and skimping on the RAM. Other than that, I think this is a plan for one of my future builds. If anyone has any tips, they're greatly appreciated. I'm still new to PC building, so anything helps! Do you think that the internals are untouched? Heres what the underside of the keys looks like.

The keys did come off pretty easily, but the PrtSc key and other differently shaped keys are sideways when compared to the other keys, and I broke a little part on it. It didn't do anything to the key though.

I think it should be fine, after taking some of the keys off, it looks like this laptop has some sort of thin plastic layer under the whole keyboard. So, other than the keys getting sticky I should be able to clean it up just fine.

Before I started college, I knew I was going to have to dish out the big bucks for a laptop that would both function as a workstation and a gaming station. I settled on the ROG Zephyrus G502 due to it being on sale at the time of purchasing it. This was one of my most expensive single purchases in my entire life, totaling out at around $1,050. For the past 8 months, I've cherished this laptop as it has provided me with the means of both gaming, and completing my college work. Yesterday, the first day of my second semester of college, I spilled Coke ALL OVER the touchpad and keyboard. Now, being the nerd that I am, I had watched videos on liquid damage in the past and knew what to do immediately. I powered down the laptop and cleaned off the excess soda within seconds. I quickly bought a can of compressed air from my campus' bookstore and went back to my dorm to do some deep cleaning on the device. I was still panicking like crazy when opening the laptop up, frantically going over each key with a paper towel and spraying the keys from an angle so that the liquid had a path to come out. Once completed dried out, I opened it as much as I could and put it face down under my bed. (to allow it to dry overnight, just in case I missed something) This morning, I opened it up, and voila! it worked. There was, however, a problem. The keyboard was now sticky. As I depressed the spacebar, my eyes watched in horror as it took a good full second for it to pop back up. I took to Youtube as my first class started and started to carefully try and use a piece of paper to remove the spacebar. After some time, the spacebar came off without anything breaking. I cleaned it a little, and put it back together, saving the whole ordeal till my day was over. I went back to my dorm after classes and gathered my supplies: Q-Tips, a cup of water, and toothpicks. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Get rubbing alcohol!", I wish. I don't have any with me, and I don't have any means of transportation at the moment. So, I'm stuck with cleaning the parts by hand with water, being careful not to get any water on something important. After cleaning the spacebar, I put it back together, and it worked almost perfectly. There is a little stick to it, but it's only a millisecond or two, so it will have to wait for the weekend when I go home. So now I have a weekend project... To take my entire laptop keyboard apart and clean it out with rubbing alcohol and Q-Tips. As far as I can tell, the hardware inside is A-OK, with no penetration past the keyboard itself. I should probably take it to a repair shop and have it checked for corrosion, but I think I will give it a shot myself in opening up the unit this weekend and cleaning it first. If anyone has any suggestions for me when it comes to cleaning this type of stuff, it would be greatly appreciated. For now, I will try and use the laptop as little as possible until I clean it properly. Also, I really don't know why I posted this to a forum, I just felt like sharing my story.

I know where to buy switches, I even have other keyboards I can de-solder and swap the switches, I just wanted to know if anyone had tried this/knew if it was possible

I don't have additional switches, and desoldering isnt a problem. Only issue is whether it would work.

I ordered a Varmilo VA108M Sakura Keyboard with Silent Red switches, and after some time I want to convert two of those switches to normal Red switches. (For private, gaming reasons) In theory this should work, since the Silent Red switch is just the Red Switch with an additional rubber piece to dampen the sound. I could just open the switch up, remove/grind down the rubber, and close it back up. I just want to hear someone else's thoughts on my little project. I have some media keys that I never use that I will practice on first, but we'll see. I've looked around and nobody else has done this, so I'm flying blind. Could this possibly work? I know there will be people asking, "WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THIS?!" Well, don't think about the why just think about the if and how.

I have the TKL version of the K68, after 3 years of HEAVY use I have had no problems. I'd go with that.

So I've been slowly upgrading my PC over the years, and the time has come for me to make another upgrade. I bought a Dell Inspiron 3668, and my current upgrades include a GTX 1050, and a 250GB SSD. I have 8GB of 2400Mhz RAM currently (The stock ram I got from the original purchase.) and I would like to go to 16GB. Now, I've read around and people say that the jump from 8 to 16GB is not too noticeable, but I want the RAM for future builds as well. I'm am VERY nooby when it comes to what parts are compatible with what PC. I have a brief understanding, but nothing deep. I have 2 slots for RAM. Now to my main question, with my Stock Dell Inspiron 3668, will this RAM fit? I am on a budget, and can't really afford anything more than $60-70. Hello, I am looking some help from anyone who has either purchased or knows what could be going on with my brand new ROG Laptop that I purchased back in the beginning of August. I noticed this noise as soon as I bought it but never paid any attention to it, but now it is getting annoying. They computer works as it is supposed to whenever it is in use normally, but after a bit of time when it has been untouched and the backlit keyboard turns off, a high pitch noise starts to be produced from the laptop itself. It wouldn't bother me if I could just turn the keyboard backlight off, but when I use the dim function to drop it to 0% brightness, it still makes the noise. Can anyone help? I just dont want it to end up being a serious problem and the whole laptop end up destroying itself. If anyone has purchased this laptop and has experienced the same thing please help me, and/or you have any tips that I should do before I go to contact ASUS directly. (Yes I have looked around online a bit and I cant find anyone else's plea about this issue.)

I was planning on replacing the current PSU to both power the motherboard and the GPU, the type of PSU that is currently in my pc is very unusual and there isnt any PSU's with a high wattage. I wasnt planning on buying a PSU to power my GPU, the 1050 doesnt require any additional power, it draws it solely from the mobo.

It's not a closed style desk, it's very open. I guess you could just call it being sandwiched between 2 boards. (With plenty of space between them, just trying to give you an image) It also has some holes in sides.

The whole system is going inside of a desk, why get a case? Plus, I will get a case later but for now I'm not interested in buying one.

My current PSU is 240W, can a 1050 run safely on a 240W?
