  1. Sounds like you have some earthing issue after reinstalling the motherboard. You may have to re-seat it. Could there be anything stuck underneath the motherboard that shouldn't be there?
  2. Check any power cables near your audio leads, it could be interference. I bet if you unplugged your PC the static noise would stop, I've seen it many times on laptops. Check for loose cables touching parts of the motherboard. Static noise can be a real pain to diagnose and remove sorry
  3. How much free space is there on your C: drive? 60GB is a very small drive. Although I know from experience it can work fine, Windows 10 is a big space hog especially when it comes to updates, its a real pain.
  4. All sounds great thank you! I can't seem to find a Fry's in SF, but I may end up renting a car anyway so I'll see if I can check it out.
  5. Visualising the server would make transferring it much easier for a start. Double check the licensing buy Hyper-V is often free to use, I think VMWare also have a free product.
  6. Hi everyone, looking for some advice... So I'm going to San Francisco at the end of May, and I'm due a PC upgrade. I'm thinking of getting the parts whilst there in order to save some money, as the prices in the UK are generally horrendous! I have an FX6300 with a GTX760 currently. I want to get a better graphics card but I think the CPU will bottleneck it. So, new build time! Spec isn't too much of a thought at the moment as I want your advice on how to buy. So the question is... what would be the best way to buy parts whilst in San Francisco? A store? Online somehow? Keep in mind I will have cash that I will have exchanged for the holiday, but parts are likely cheaper online? Which comes with complications such as where to get them delivered and how to pay it? I'm trying to save as much money as possible here. Also if any of you are from SF and can recommend a store that would be good too, preferably one which I can test the parts at the store? Don't want to get back to the UK with dead parts! Thanks in advance
  7. Do you have another hard drive you can use to test? Try installing W10 on it, same as before and see how it goes. If you still have issues, its not the SSD. Strangely, this could be a PSU issue. Did you get your installation media from W10? The Media Creation Tool onto USB works well, if you use this, try formatting it and starting again, there may be an issue.
  8. This is incorrect. Since the computer upgraded to Windows 10, Microsoft has 'upgraded' his key. OP, you can reinstall from ISO from Microsoft, it should activate fine. If for some strange reason it doesn't, you can ring Microsoft and explain the situation, they will help.
  9. Without some considerable scripting, the quickest way would be something like iOBit Uninstaller, it has a 'Batch' mode. You tick each one you want to uninstall and it will run through them all. You still have to click next next next etc, but it will go through each one. And, it will check the HDD and registry for any leftovers! http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php
  10. Awesome! I'm currently using an Apex Raw keyboard and a Sharkoon optical mouse.. They are OK but cheap! Would love an upgrade thanks
  11. Loving that HDR on an SDR monitor! I can't afford to get a HDR monitor or TV but would love the card to make stuff really pop on screen!
  12. Wow I can't believe how short throw that is! And its tiny!
  13. I use an Apex Raw, and to be honest, the keys are too mushy! I would love a new mechanical keyboard as they've always been to expensive to buy. Especially as all the cheaper ones have blue LED's which I can't stand. The Tesoro would be a perfect replacement, I can pick any colour I want and will have lovely key feels! Thanks LMG
  14. I would love to win the Excalibur keyboard! I have the Apex Raw and I just don't like the membrane keys, and really can't afford a mechanical!
