Gaming laptop for USD 1800
Cameron Goodwin replied to Yassassin's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Razer laptops are good for that price. https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/razer-blade/shop#rtx2060--fhd-144hz-9thgen--512gb-25slot-quartz- 6 replies

laptop About Lenovo Legion Y540
Cameron Goodwin replied to TP3000's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
It depends on your use case. If you need battery life, this will probably not be any good. But plugged in, you can game on it easy, so that's worth it. Lenovo makes good laptops for that sort of thing. On the go, you'll need to do low powered tasks to conserve battery with all this hardware inside. Again, really just depends on your use case. Hope this helps a bit!- 2 replies

Looking at laptops. Lenovo Legion Y740 17"?
Cameron Goodwin replied to Zapawaf's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Agreed. There are similar laptops for a similar price, but at 15.6". I would only recommend 15.6 at most, especially for mobile use. -
So, my friend is planning on buying the Hades Canyon Nuc from intel, and we can't seem to find a nice monitor that is only 1080p at 60hz (because that is all he needs). I'm asking if anyone here knows of a good (and cheap) 1080p 60hz monitor so he can up his game for a little less than $200. Any suggestions?

Very solid build. Are the specs in your signature the ones in the machine?

I don't like HP better, they just have a much simpler pricing system than anyone else. I will get back to you with a few dell laptops as well. https://store.hp.com/us/en/ConfigureView?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&catEntryId=3074457345618890323&urlLangId=&quantity=1&jumpid=ma_omen-gaming_product-tile_laptops_11_4fb29av-1_omen-laptop---15t https://store.hp.com/us/en/ConfigureView?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&catEntryId=3074457345618810319&urlLangId=&quantity=1&jumpid=ma_omen-gaming_product-tile_laptops_5_3aw55av-1_omen-laptop---17t-ga

Help me choose my new laptop
Cameron Goodwin replied to AmjadNN917's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
^Yes^ I would go with something razer just because of their reliability. Also they have D-Brand for sure. -
What are you using it for? I can make a better recommendation if I know that. I've been researching a lot of laptops recently, so I know prices and stuff.

Lenovo ThinkPad E590. A good choice?
Cameron Goodwin replied to MrConcrete04's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
What exactly are you using this laptop for? Also, from what I see ram is upgradable, storage is upgradable if you get nothing in the PCIe M.2 slot. If what they are saying is right and it can turbo up to 4.6GHz on an i7-8565U, it's probably a good thermal dissipator. It may not sustain that, but it looks pretty solid. Like Mr. @NelizMastr said, REVIEWS! They are your best friend in looking for a laptop. I'm looking for a new one and I have about 10-20 saved configs to compare and look for reviews on. Good luck, kind sir! -
Extremely nice and polished finished build! Something like Linus himself when he would do an all out crazy build!

Yeah, I was thinking about that (via userbenchmark) and I do see your point. I initially thought, "Hm... with all this nice hardware, wouldn't he use a 1060 if the budget allowed?" Then, you look at my specs and I just have no hardware and everyone criticizes me for not knowing because I've never used the hardware, but I actually do have personal experience with a 980ti, my friend has one. Though he knows nothing about PCs and is scared I will break it if I OC it.

I'll just say this; GPU is s***, but hardline watercooling! That's amazing for your bro! I'm never even trying hardline, so this is really cool!
