  1. Hi recently built a new computer and first time overclocking a 9700k *edit* system specs if that help: windows 10 64bit, ripjaws v 3600 ddr4, 1070ti, 9700k at 5.0ghz *EDIT* 2: one core got up to 1.49v playing a game...no glitches and smooth, but scary to see hwmonitor say this I have put multiplier to 50 and set the settings I know off that keep the voltage/core clock from going down easily. Do you think that with an 'adaptive' voltage that these peaks of up to 1.48 are acceptable? (i hear anything over 1.45 is dangerous, but, this is adaptive for circumstances, so do i need to have it locked high at all times?) https://ibb.co/T4f5Hs1 I havent gotten the courage to try to fine tune this to the .1/.01 volts...because when i tried to overclock my ram, i had to reinstall windows(im noob), and didnt wnat to have to reinstall whole os in the process(so i just set multiplier to 50 and xmp my ramz
  2. just to clairfy, my main gaming computer will be limited to the output of the capture card that the second computer is using? or is that just for the stream viewers
  3. Yes sir. I have an extra one so I figured I'd give it a try to keep fps and stream stable. If one of the 50-80$ capture cards is good enough to not slow it down, that is. Also, from what I was reading, i will put capture card on main rig, then use hdmi from gpu to capture
  4. Yes i have a quad core cpu that i want to use as a streaming pc so as to not lose any fps(trying to achieve 250- 300 in afps without drops). was hoping this would prevent drops.
  5. Hello I'm new to streaming. I was wondering, will a cheaper capture card slow down my fps on the gaming computer from slower conversion of the game/stream data? Here is the capture card im thinking of buying(only need 720p or 1080p for twitch stream), does the quality matter for affecting fps on the gaming computer, or mess stream up any? thanks! there are two that look similar, but are different prices, let me know please! https://www.amazon.com/LEADNOVO-Streaming-Broadcasting-Recording-Camcorders/dp/B089KCSSZQ/ref=pd_lpo_23_t_2/131-4977583-3503626?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B089KCSSZQ&pd_rd_r=955cb366-0406-4608-88ae-f84f98096352&pd_rd_w=pYIe6&pd_rd_wg=G9Kx5&pf_rd_p=7b36d496-f366-4631-94d3-61b87b52511b&pf_rd_r=PYFH4GF0C9NCVBMQ1TK8&psc=1&refRID=PYFH4GF0C9NCVBMQ1TK8 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0897JTDK1/ref=pe_1843280_547769660_em_1p_0_lm
  6. ya prob 250hz and 1080 p at some point so that points towards quad core again, thanks
  7. Thanks! I'll use this one for the streaming then(quad core) to stream afps I would want 60fps minimum 720 sounds fine. do you think i will drop less fps on the gaming rig if i get a capture card for the 4970k, which will be stream pc(my noob knowledge strikes again)
  8. main rig will have 9700 and 1070 gtx, while old one is a i3 7100 at 3.9ghz with a radeon rx 550. i have a 4790 computer with 1070 i could use as streaming instead, if the weaker one will bog my main pc down though... also, either way i need to buy a capture card for the streaming pc, correct?
  9. Hello, i hope this isnt wrong forum, i wasnt sure after i looked at all the different options. I will be building a new pc soon. Question is: Streaming pc, will a weak one bog down my main pc? I have a dual core cpu with low end amd graphics card;i may use it for streaming pc i.e will a significantly slower desktop computer capturing my twitch streaming games bog down my gaming rig from not being able to process the video fast enough?? So that gaming pc would get bogged down with old video info in ram etc, not allowing it to concentrate 100% on the task at hand(gaming)? thanks!
  10. For me its any afps like quake 3/qlive 1, 2, etc. diabotical, reflex etc. that and almost any game i loved on older systems with 8-bit music hehe
  11. Hello I posted incorrect link yesterday. Will not attempt to 'link', will just post plain text of the motherboard i have to choose from. My main concern is having clearance for either a Cryorig r1 ultimate, or a noctura d15 140mm fan. Also while being able to have plenty of vram/bandwitdth etc to fully overclock a 9700k(i pretending its a 'gold lottery ticket' instead of a 'trash lottery' that i keep hearing about with silicon. Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI LGA 1151, which is currently 189 plus shipping i belive. MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC LGA1151, which is currently 170$ atm with free shipping i belive. Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Elite (Intel LGA1151, which is 170$ as well with free shipping. Please say if there are better choices for overclocking a 9700k to 4.9-5.1ghz. This is my first 9k cpu setup. had a 4790 before. I would like to stay hopefully below 200$ oin the motherboard, but if there are safer options with better stability for 250+ fps gaming, I would consider spending more. thank you

  16. Hi, I will probably be buying an 9700k cpu and want to get as close to 5ghz as I can. For my budget I have these two to chose from(afaik from my own research, feel free to mention similar priced but better options), which do you think is best overall. My main goal is to be playing fps games at 250+ fps. thanks https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Z390-AORUS-LGA1151-Motherboard/ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HM3MD1D?&tag=pcbuilds101-20
